evancelt Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Corporal Hardy of the 26th Foot had spent the last year on the island of Terraversa under Captain Brickleton. He had traveled to the island with Brickleton from Wullham at the onset of hostilities with Oleon. Even though those tensions with Oleon hadn't come to a head and Corrington was currently treating with Oleon regarding a joint effort against the Lotii, Hardy was still haunted by a dream of a charge that had never happened. In the dream, an Oleonese heavy lancer was charging at him and he was kneeling ready to fire his musket at the oncoming horse. He strategized that once the horse was downed, he would charge the cavalryman with his bayonet. He would wait until the horse was a cart's length from him and then fire. 3.. 2.. 1.. And then he always woke up ------------------- OOC: I backed the CrazyLegs kickstarter and they just arrived in the mail this week. Wanted to try them in a build! NOD Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 That looks really great and realistic! I'm just imagining what it would look like if 10 were kneeling and 10 standing behind it. That would look impressive! The heavy lancer looks great too. Quote
blackdeathgr Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 (edited) Nice posing! I am starting to actually appreciate 3rd party specialized pieces like arms and legs. Especially legs, although not quite streamlined like the TLG ones, could easily pass as an official design. As @NOD said, one could but imagine how a double battle line would look like. I quite like the base too as it deviates from the usual bases seen around online. IC now, keep dreaming petite Monsieur Hardy. It's the only thing that saves you from being trampled by the mighty Oleander Cuirassiers! Edited December 24, 2021 by blackdeathgr Quote
Justsomebrix Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 Great use of the pieces! I love the dream idea too, it's a good way to build non consequential scenes. Quote
evancelt Posted December 24, 2021 Author Posted December 24, 2021 Thanks guys! I'm becoming a fan of rounded corner studs up bases like this - they are super quick to build and look unique (at the moment!) since I haven't seen others do it yet. And there are finally enough 6x6 circles and 3x3 macaroni tiles to nest inside the 4x4's! Quote
Capt Wolf Posted December 24, 2021 Posted December 24, 2021 I love this build! Well staged, and the rounded ends look great for this subject. And using the dream as a way to present the subject is well done! And I had not heard about the legs pieces? Where can I get me some of those? Quote
Kai NRG Posted December 25, 2021 Posted December 25, 2021 Those are some fun legs for sure! Looking forward to seeing where else you use them. Quote

The legs are called Crazy Legs from a company called CrazyBricks. The kickstarter finished this year and I bet they start selling them on their website soon. They make the funny arms from the MOC too (straight, curved). Some fun leg shapes: On 12/25/2021 at 11:04 AM, Kai NRG said: Those are some fun legs for sure!
