Definitely Birdo  They’re all well-realised, but Birdo, Ice Bro, and Blooper are my faves of this series.

Wonder what Series 7 (already?!) has in store for us next summer!

Yeah, but i hope they won’t give us characters that are done before. Blooper is great because of the little bloopees (don’t know their names) and the Cat Goombas are great because i don’t really like to buy the tower. But i hoped they would have used some other character than bramball. We could have gotten a red bomb-omb with friendly tile instead, just to name a random character that would be an easy one for them to make

Personally I don't totally mind when a repeat character appears in the character packs, especially a rarer one like Blooper, Bramball or the Cat Goombas. Most "real" Mario levels tend to have a lot of multiples of the same enemy, so being able to populate a level with a bunch of similar enemies helps to maintain a coherent theme. Parts-wise, Bramball is also so far the only character who has had that thorny vine piece, which could be useful in other sorts of MOCs.

On the note of "repeat" enemies, a part of me hopes that the Biddybud/Para-Biddybud appears in more colors in the future. In the games it originates from, it often tends to appear in groups of multiple colors, so perhaps a future character pack could have a pair of differently colored Biddybuds (maybe yellow and blue) like the two Cat Goombas in this pack. One nice thing about the character packs getting larger is that not only can larger characters like Spike and Sumo Bro be included now, but multiple smaller enemies can be packaged together too!

Yeah i’d like to see more para-biddybuds as well. Two different colors in a character pack, and two different colors in a set.

i really hope we’ll see a Snifit one day, and i’d like to see some more shyguys in multiple colors.
I can see them making a Charging Chuck too. Or a fishbone, or some eeries. But they did quite a few already. Who’s missing at this point? (Of course the mini bosses, but who else?)

Charging Chuck would be awesome! Fishbone too though I'm not sure how you'd best achieve that skeletal shape and still have room for a scannable tile. Another enemy I'd like to see (especially now that we have more snow levels) is a Snow Pokey. And a Snow Spike, for that matter.

A lot of the more traditional/recurring enemy types have been covered, but there are still many that haven't—especially when you get into enemies that have only been in a couple games. In more recent games, there's a lot of 3D Land/3D World enemies in particular that have yet to be made in Lego. There's also a lot of enemies that belong mainly to particular spinoffs/subseries, like enemies largely from the Yoshi's Island or Super Mario Galaxy games, and many variants of enemies that have been made (like the bright red Bulls-Eye Bills or Para-bones as well as bigger versions of enemies like Cheep Cheeps or Fuzzies). I'd also love to see some more large boss characters, especially Gooper Blooper and Petey Piranha (two of the bosses from Sunshine who have gone on to appear relatively frequently in some of the spin-off games).

I would dearly love to get Super Mario Galaxy sets. We need Rosalina! And Lumas!

I have to play Mario Galaxy again. I loved those games. I hope they will make a Ghost Mario, although i can’t see how they would make that with the real mario in it.

Couldn’t agree more! I was hoping the bee suit would be a sign of more Galaxy sets to come, but it’s been pretty silent on that front :shrug_oh_well:

In terms of missing enemy types, Rex would be a cool one to include somewhere, especially if there was a way to make it collapse :head_back:

Also, Odyssey stuff please! At least having Cappy would be neat

Honestly it’s nuts that they haven’t put a Luma in one of these character packs yet. Like they’re super popular and memorable characters, but they just give us repeats and recolors instead.

I got the Mighty Bowser set for Christmas yesterday! Just finished building it today—what a satisfying building experience.

I would expect a character like Luma that's iconic to Galaxy specifically to be released in a set or wave of sets alongside other characters from that game like Rosalina, maybe even (if we're lucky) in a set based on a Galaxy location like the Comet Observatory. I don't really feel like they'd be ideally suited to a character pack—especially since I'm not sure what interaction they ought to have other than a generic "friendly" interaction like Toads.

Speaking of Toads and Galaxy, I think the recolors we've gotten so far do mean we can build almost the whole Toad Brigade apart from Captain Toad himself!

According to lego_minecraft_goat, this is the set list for 2HY:

  • 71420 (106 pcs)
  • 71421 (174 pcs)
  • 71422 (259 pcs)
  • 71423 (1321 pcs)
  • 71424 (554 pcs)
  • 71425 (1157 pcs)

Allegedly, no new starter course and no series 7 *huh*

Would this also remove the possibility of another 18+ / D2C set or would that be considered separately from the main line?

No series 7? :-(

maybe this wave will round up the koopalings and bring the super mario sets to an end. I mean it is running pretty long and how many new features can you design for sets like these with play functions and great esthetics?
The three main characters are covered by now, the main villain with its helpers as well (if the rest of the koopalings will join next wave).
I really hope next wave will have some new enemies as well.

two sets with over 1000 pieces. What could they be? Castles are that big. But we have the castle of Peach and Bowser. Maybe a big CatBowser tower? Pianta town? The Odyssey?

as long as they make snifit

Or a Super Nintendo (SNES).
Likely to be the North American version!
