Gazzalene Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Hello and sorry if this is the wrong section to ask. I am no spring chicken and got this for me and my grandson when he showed interest after a few small kits. I have experience with RC models so the build is no probs. I am used to lubricating and greasing of plastic parts in RC. Do you guys lubricate at all the gears or trans? what about the phumatic cylinders? Any quick tips will be great, thanks Quote
Johnny1360 Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 I would recommend against it, not necessary at all. Sure picked a hell of a set to start with, should be fun, enjoy. Quote
Gray Gear Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 I think lubing up LEGO components isn't something a lot of people do. It's not unheard of, but I think it isn't necessary outside of high power MOC applications. Quote
nerdsforprez Posted September 27, 2021 Posted September 27, 2021 Really only needed if you are doing something at really high speeds. Lego motors don't really only meet that speed. The only time I have ever done it is when using my pneumatic engine. FOr high torque applications, like others have said, not necessary Quote

If they are old and the friction is significantly higher, then it might be worth it. Here is a thread about how to do that. BTW, welcome to Eurobricks :-) Edited September 27, 2021 by Andman Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 28, 2021 Posted September 28, 2021 The 42100 has no pneumatic cylinders, but Linear Actuators which are already prelubricated from the factory. Quote
