I've bought multiple sets off Bricklink that are retired that are cheaper than Ebay or Amazon. Also, Amazon stores are also small business stores quite a bit. It's just like bricklink, but "free shipping" is already factored into the cost. As others said, current sets are easier on Amazon or from TLG. Retired sets, parts, and just spare pieces are BrickLink's bread and butter. That's why people use that site (heads up, TLG owns Bricklink now), because it's easier. It's no different from walking into a mom and pop shop.

Your one experience is just that. One. And everybody else has had a way different experience (everyone here is saying good things). Statistically, you're experience is not working.

Well, Statistically the most intelligent people are the least and the successful secret is also kept by least people. You guys may keep protesting for Bricklink, no problem, but I have done my job by telling the truth to the future viewers, I have nothing to lose. Only those who don't take my advice will lose. Bye

I'm seeing plenty of vested interests supporting Bricklink with false or inaccurate claims, so I am here to act as a candle in the dark to give the true and accurate claims to the newbie and future viewers. That's it. Hand-on and actual experiences will just prove my words.

I don't think you know what you are talking about. Some of the questions you have asked show a distinct lack of common sense. BL sellers are probably better off without you.

You clearly have an anti BL agenda. But that's fine, you will pay more elsewhere. And guess what, you are probably buying from the same sellers on amazon or ebay. Many BL sellers also sell on brickowl, amazon, eBay, etsy, or all 4. Where fees are higher, guess what gphappens to prices...?

I love Lego. I buy from Bricklink. I do know they are not perfect and speak out about them and their practices. What really surprised me was when I learned that many would defend them as if they are their own companies. Many are also very hesitant to speak up, as if they would never be able to buy Lego again if they speak up. It's baffling to me because I see myself as the customer, not the owners or stockholders of Lego and Bricklink.

On this note, I also noticed on Bricklink that many sellers act as if you should be lucky that they are even willing to sell to you.

I don't know what you are trying to say... it honestly makes no sense @ks6349.

As an aside, I have NO store on Brickink (so no vested interests), I've been buying since 2007 and agree it's not the most intuitive out there. However, it's MILES better than it used to be when I started, and getting better all the time...

But if you don't want to use it, or don't like it, please don't claim to be "holding a candle" to give "true and accurate claims" to newer EB users. It almost sounds like you're a competitor (Ebay / Brickowl seller? I don't know nor do I really care) trying to divert traffic away from Bricklink for your own reasons.... whatever they may be!

Whatever it is that makes you hate BL, please explain, as you haven't done that yet.

Well if you had politely asked for my advice or reason, I would have explained to you but you were just rude in your first line of reply so I wouldn't bother wasting my time explaining to you. As I said, I have nothing to lose. It is your loss, not mine.

Remember he is no good at doing MOCs and doesn't buy retired sets, the two main uses for BL. And doesn't like people profiting from selling LEGO, or charging for postage.

Hello Ks,

Let's try to keep the discussion effective. If you have had a bad experience ordering from BL, please tell about it, let other members know, too. So far, you have been displeased with the sellers' decision not to ship for free.
And don't call a long term member a troll. You don't have to agree with someone, but no offensive posts.

Who are you? You think that you know me better than I do?

1. I buy retired sets, but I NEVER buy retired sets on BL.

2. Everyone is good at MOC if they have time, my time is used for something more valuable and rewarding, not doing MOC.

3. Plenty of other more reliable sources on the planet that you can buy Lego without having to pay postage, as long as your order is over $25 or £20, and their single price item and is even lower than that of the random unimportant someone on BL.

4. Protesting for BL has only one reason - You sell on BL.

I also buy. About 50:50.

And what about you, continually protesting against BL? What reason do you have to continually knock a site used by many for decades as a source of retired sets and new and used parts that are often not available elsewhere? Most AFOLs that buy retired sets and/or buy individual parts for MOCs know and use BL.

You have commented many times about people stealing parts and resealing boxes. Yet how many times has it happened to you? Or how many times have you received fake parts? In over a decade on BL with 100s of purchases, it has happened to me 0 times.

If you have a special secret source for retired sets where postage is free and the prices are lower than those on BL, feel free to share it.

In this thread you stated: I  have spent quite some time and effort trying to create a different building on my own but I could hardly build anything.

To me, that suggests that you are no good at doing MOCs - if you could hardly build anything after spending quite some time on it. If now you have changed your mind and spending time on something else is more valuable and rewarding to you and you no longer spend time on doing them, it suggests you do not enjoy doing MOCs.

A few months ago, I found myself needing to buy two of Part 30209 in blue, something which hasn't been produced by Lego in sets since 1998. Those parts cost me four pence each. Tell me: where exactly could I have gone to buy those parts for less money? It's odd that you are continually so irrationally against Bricklink - but this genuinely confuses me. There's not exactly a surfeit of secondary marketplaces where you can reliably get individual out-of-production parts.

I do believe in my post, I stated I had no store on Bricklink. So your last comment was untrue as if even one person has not got a store, and "protest for" Bricklink, as it makes that statement you made false, .logically speaking.

Also, the statement about stores being run by "random unimportant someone" was completely unwarranted. No-one is unimportant: everyone has a role to play in this great big theater production we call life, and I'd prefer it you didn't insinuate otherwise!

(EDIT for spelling.)
