I'm affraid that on 8858 there is to much gearing in steering system so servo motor could end up not properly returning to center after a while...

In my experience, this has not been the case. I've had it for months now, tearing around the house at least every other day.

Well done - creative motor placement, and the performance looks great, too! I love how the original DNA of the sets is still very much intact. Thanks for providing the free instructions!
