Captain Braunsfeld Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 (edited) You remember Commodore T Spoon? Introduced here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/187046-introducing-commodore-spoon/ Guess what, he also has a ship! ... and is sailing away ... ... probably to Pontelli. ,,, and he is singing a song: "I am sailing, I am sailing..." --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I always wanted to build a ship on the basis of one of those larger standard boat hulls - and here it is! And don't ask about monkeys. They may be somewhere, but not yet. Stay healthy and safe! Edited August 16, 2021 by Captain Braunsfeld Quote
NOD Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 It is one of the best ships built from a rowboat. Very well. Short and precise description. If someone wants to read a lot then he can buy a book. Quote

Thomas Waagenaar Posted August 15, 2021 Posted August 15, 2021 Wat een schattig klein bootje! Ziet er leuk uit! (What a cute little boat! Looks really nice!) Never knew there were other Dutch people here! :P Quote
evancelt Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Interesting small boat! I like the splash of colors at the back. What's the boat hull from? Most rowboats are 4 studs across and this one is 6! Quote
Kai NRG Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 Great job integrating the hull, I also love the curvy sail! What will Commodore Spoon find to eat in Pontelli, I wonder? Quote

I am happy that somebody asked The hull is from 7072: Captain Kragg's Pirate Boat - that short lived "large pirates"-series. The large hull was probably the best part. 3 hours ago, Kai NRG said: Great job integrating the hull, I also love the curvy sail! What will Commodore Spoon find to eat in Pontelli, I wonder? Thanks. I think they still have that ice cream shop in Pontelli Quote
Garmadon Posted August 16, 2021 Posted August 16, 2021 You know I love ships on rowboat hulls (speaking of which, you should be seeing more of those soon(tm), I hope! ), but now I've got to get one of these ones too! I like this so much - I'm very impressed by how fun (as always!) but also realistic you also somehow managed to somehow make it look! Those brickbuilt sails work very well too, so very nice work all around! On 8/15/2021 at 7:54 AM, Captain Braunsfeld said: And don't ask about monkeys. They may be somewhere, but not yet. Soo Captain... where are the monkeys? Quote

blackdeathgr Posted August 17, 2021 Posted August 17, 2021 One of the best ships build from a prefab boat I've seen for quite some time! Can we see the stern in a photo or two? Have you elongated the hull somehow out of the back cut out hole of the prefab or does it really "end" right at the stern of your boat? On another note, I've been itching to get such a "big" boat for myself for quite some time to experiment, but besides rarity, BL prices fluctuated for quite some time on its various colours (plus I've forgotten it by now). I believe "adventures" theme (in the jungle) also had one or two such prefabs. Quote

You can also see this on the third picture from the top, just slightly above the letter "C" there is a small gap between the hull and the extension. Anyway this little boat is of course way over the top. But I liked the idea of including everything that a much larger ship would have Maybe I also should have added a gun deck!
