woody64 Posted June 14, 2008 Author Posted June 14, 2008 hmmm i recognize that boat and those men with the black soldier torso... ENLIGHTEN blocks... since you mention it now, i think you are right. i wonder if the whole stuff is enlighten ... nevertheless the pictures arwe great .... andreas Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 no its not all enlighten as far as i can tell, the soldiers that look normal with the red and blue have gold on them, enlighten copies do not have the gold... i think they created the black and gold soldiers to get the gold to work... and yes i looked through all the pics :pir-wub: i wish i could read Chinese/Japanese they are very talented comic book artists regards, Cpt, PB Quote
Fluyt Posted June 15, 2008 Posted June 15, 2008 no its not all enlighten as far as i can tell, the soldiers that look normal with the red and blue have gold on them, enlighten copies do not have the gold... i think they created the black and gold soldiers to get the gold to work... +isn't the torso red with printing with the enlighten clone? (instead of a white torso with red printing like the official one) and enlighten has wierd arms I believe. Or maybe I'm confused with other clone brands. But indeed definately not all is fake, he also has indy stuff and most (or all) of the minifigs look genuine, just the ships I think. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted June 15, 2008 Governor Posted June 15, 2008 So who is this tigerggyy? His blog appears to in a language which I cannot decipher although his work is rather impressive. Quote
El Bucanero Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 It's certainly not ALL enlighten: The Minifig is all LEGO, exept for his helmet and crossbow. I think the horse saddle is enlighten as well (I have never seen a chrome TLC horse saddle before). Quite a striking combination this chap made! Quote
Joey Lock Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I have a Enlighten Set, The Golds to bright to be Enlighten. I think he used Chrome Gold Spray Paint. Quote
Admiral Blockbeard Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 (edited) i would have to agree whole heartedly there! enlighten have a certain standard they can not surpass, and unless it has lifted very highly over the last few months most 'custom' bricks in that shot are not enlighten... also note they have Lego written on the circles atop the brick, enlighten as far as i know have not gone that far... regards Cpt. oDDerFisken Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I've seen some of these pics long time ago.. This could be me, but it seems like the bricks on the ship isn't Lego. They look more like Mega Bloks to me. Take a look at this picture Aren't the yellow bricks to light? They don't seem to have the same quality as TLC. Again.. this is what I think, but I'm not an expert, and it could the light that gives the pale colour. Quote
CVSPIS_CELIDVS Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 So who is this tigerggyy? His blog appears to in a language which I cannot decipher although his work is rather impressive. tigerggyy (tiger0207" on Brickshelf) comes from Taiwan, and he is a member of TWLUG. Here is his profile in TWLUG forums. His another blog I thick, in playing LEGO, he belongs to a league of his own. Quote
CVSPIS_CELIDVS Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 I have a Enlighten Set, The Golds to bright to be Enlighten. I think he used Chrome Gold Spray Paint. In fact, the chrome gold/silver parts are made by gold/silver plating. Another example from tiger's idea: BS gallery Topics 1 & 2 in TWLUG forums. I've seen some of these pics long time ago..This could be me, but it seems like the bricks on the ship isn't Lego. They look more like Mega Bloks to me. Take a look at this picture Aren't the yellow bricks to light? They don't seem to have the same quality as TLC. Again.. this is what I think, but I'm not an expert, and it could the light that gives the pale colour. The light yellow bricks are from Enlighten. Also the ship is made by Enlighten bricks. The color is significantly different between LEGO and Enlighten yellow bricks. Quote
El Bucanero Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 In fact, the chrome gold/silver parts are made by gold/silver plating. Well well, I thought those were some of those rare chrome gold bricks TLC made once. Those gold plated parts are extremely awesome though! The light yellow bricks are from Enlighten. Also the ship is made by Enlighten bricks. The color is significantly different between LEGO and Enlighten yellow bricks. Did TLC even ever made curved bar fences in yellow? Quote
Quarryman Posted June 17, 2008 Posted June 17, 2008 Did TLC even ever made curved bar fences in yellow? Only in light yellow in 5808, and I think the yellow on that picture is quite a bit darker than TLC's light yellow. Quote
