Brick Train Studio Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Problem: small layout and no space for big trains! Solution: Mini trains: Here a mini freight train! (#60098) Here you can find the video: YouTube Quote
Black Knight Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Aww, look you!! Cho cho gaa gaa...you're so cuddly-wuddly! :D Quote
SD100 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 That's pretty cool. And man are those some steep grades, it was only a matter of time before something came off the rails! :D SD Quote
Brick Train Studio Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Thanks. Yes, it really is a cuddly locomotive. But fits the small box :) Well, in Switzerland everything is just a little smaller. The train easily manages the incline with two engines. However, it must not go down so fast. Quote
CMF-1138 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 That is impressive for such a small space. If you have not previously seen them, you may be interested in Masao Hidaka's series of mini-trains (akin to the microfighter versions of official LEGO trains). Maybe smaller than what you are working on, but could be inspiration for more small rolling stock. Quote
Brick Train Studio Posted March 28, 2021 Author Posted March 28, 2021 Thanks. I know this channel. My models have to look a bit more like a locomotive. For example, with two bogies. Quote
ivanlan9 Posted March 28, 2021 Posted March 28, 2021 Wow! A chibi locomotive! Good on you! Metta, Ivan Quote
Duq Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Chibi is exactly what I was thinking! Reminds me of those model railways in a suitcase you sometimes see at shows: So next challenge: Emerald Chibi? Quote
Brick Train Studio Posted March 29, 2021 Author Posted March 29, 2021 :D Yes :D next challenge: 1. Maersk Train 2. Emerald Express :D And maybe the Santa Fe :) Quote
ColletArrow Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 A perfect minification, it retains all the character and features of the original, but with some nifty stuff to compress it down. Neat work, and a very unusual layout too! Quote
Paperinik77pk Posted March 29, 2021 Posted March 29, 2021 Haha! Great!!! This little locomotive for sure will master all kind of curves without any problem!!! Quote
Brick Train Studio Posted March 30, 2021 Author Posted March 30, 2021 Here is a picture of the inner workings (two motors, power function, front and rear lights, and a switch to make the two motors go in the same direction): [img=https://www.1000steine.de/de/gemeinschaft/forum/img/85747-1617102239.jpg] Here is a picture of the inner workings (two motors, power function, front and rear lights, and a switch to make the two motors go in the same direction): Here is the picture Quote
zephyr1934 Posted March 31, 2021 Posted March 31, 2021 That's pretty neat. I wonder if you could build some sort of retarder system for the downhill segment, or maybe bank the curves. But either of these solutions would likely turn it into a one way route. Quote
Brick Train Studio Posted April 6, 2021 Author Posted April 6, 2021 Thanks for the tips. I'll keep building and try my best. Quote
Jet Engined Rhino Posted April 6, 2021 Posted April 6, 2021 Aww so cute... Next challenge : baby horizon express ! Quote
