jpx Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Hi, Since I got the first 8-wide Speed Champions - it was the 1985 Audi Quattro - I have been modifying my collection of 6-wide Speed Champions. In this thread I will post them, but feel free to post your own too! caiman0637 Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Nice, these cars look really good. I just wish somebody would modify 8 stud wide cars to be six studs wide. Quote
dimka_ya Posted March 11, 2021 Posted March 11, 2021 Ferrari a little square :) Try to make it 7pin wide. Mercedes is cool! Quote

The conversion really works. Quote
Vilhelm22 Posted March 14, 2021 Posted March 14, 2021 (edited) The F40 is a little boxy for my liking, but the Chiron looks amazing - excellent job! I'd put the Mercedes somewhere between the two. Nice work! Also this is my 600th post on the forum! Edited March 14, 2021 by Vilhelm22 Quote
User5346 Posted April 21, 2021 Posted April 21, 2021 Hi guys, so I have been thinking about converting the 6 wide Chiron to 8 studs although I want to do it in a different colour scheme. Now I can’t do it in the proper colours like the technic set as dark azure wheel fenders do not exist. I of course want to have it in dual tone colours, so I was thinking half white and half dark blue however another one of my mocs is dark blue so I’m not sure. Curious to hear some ideas. Quote
jpx Posted April 22, 2021 Author Posted April 22, 2021 I'd say just build it with whatever colors you have available - then you can always bricklink the parts in a different color later. I really like the yellow/black version of the Chiron, but for now I'll just keep the model i've build :) Quote
McLaren Posted April 26, 2021 Posted April 26, 2021 (edited) Would it be possible to have this thread as just a general Speed Champions collection thread, for everyone, whatever the stud-width, without necessarily the exclusive 8 - wide rule? Or is there already a 6 - wide thread? Apologies if there is and I just haven't found it. I very much enjoy the challenge of restricting myself to the 6 - wide Speed Champs scale. Using just original Lego stickers and pieces. And really, in that sense my 'creations' are only ever really slight modifications to the original design philosophy of the six- wide scale models. As you can see, I only really enjoy making quite subtle modifications to the original designs, so they don't really qualify as Moc's in that sense. And probably only just scrape by as Mods. The differences are there though, but you just have to look really close. Edited April 26, 2021 by McLaren Quote
