Ok, my first hands on experience with the 42215 showel. Oh wow this is the first lego element which feels really cheap and hollow. Im sorry. But how 2010, 8043 or the 2019, 42100 excavator showel feeled soo much premium and confidence inspiring than this🤔

Ok, i might know the reason. The 42209 and the others used hard soft plastic which is mat and slighty grippy and sturdier feeling and nicely flexible. And the 42215 bucket intead uses glossy hard plastic which feels like some sort of cheap plastic office paper organiser for the work table

Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask.

I just got an old set with a couple of the large foam tyres (parts 3739, 3740), and the tyres are quite dusty, dirty, and what looks like a couple of cobwebs. Normally, I just wash parts in warm soapy water, scrub a little with a toothbrush, then rinse in cold water. Would that be ok for the foam rubber tyres, or is the soap likely to cause the rubber to start deteriorating?

No way, however, these types of tires deteriorate over the decades by developing a sort of “liquified” rubber on the outer layers. Do you observe such a film as well? They can be removed temporarily, but that won't stop the process. I have a good amount of such tires.

To be honest, the tyres feel very solid and not quite like rubber. They seem dry and dusty, rather than oily. I will give a try with the soapy water and see how I go on.

Of course not, just zoomed in on the BL picture. That foam, as you said, can very well be treated with soap.

Sorry for the confusion - my tires are all rubbishy :pir-wink:

Quick quiz: find where the pump is

Wow, do we know the designer's name? Somehow I feel sad knowing that he is still working there. How can Technic be in such a sorry state nowadays when there are still people in the team that designed such legendary sets?

He's Milan Reindl, an official Technic designer.

His channels:

He also has a thread in this forum. His first post here was 15 years ago.

I was talking about the older guy who designed the 8868 obviously.

That's Olav Kroigaard. His most notable creation is the Big Red 42082. His most recent creation that I know of is the 42182.

LEGO wants only 24€ for it :))

Bro it’s literally just the battery. That’s nuts.

Yeah, as always.

For compatible PUp device>s<; how many are there? How would I plug that thing into any of the PUp "devices" I own?

Nuts it is.

But who knows.
