Auroralampinen Posted November 13, 2025 Posted November 13, 2025 (edited) Ok, my first hands on experience with the 42215 showel. Oh wow this is the first lego element which feels really cheap and hollow. Im sorry. But how 2010, 8043 or the 2019, 42100 excavator showel feeled soo much premium and confidence inspiring than this🤔. Ok, i might know the reason. The 42209 and the others used hard soft plastic which is mat and slighty grippy and sturdier feeling and nicely flexible. And the 42215 bucket intead uses glossy hard plastic which feels like some sort of cheap plastic office paper organiser for the work table Edited November 13, 2025 by Auroralampinen Quote

NathanR Posted November 27, 2025 Posted November 27, 2025 Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask. I just got an old set with a couple of the large foam tyres (parts 3739, 3740), and the tyres are quite dusty, dirty, and what looks like a couple of cobwebs. Normally, I just wash parts in warm soapy water, scrub a little with a toothbrush, then rinse in cold water. Would that be ok for the foam rubber tyres, or is the soap likely to cause the rubber to start deteriorating? Quote

No way, however, these types of tires deteriorate over the decades by developing a sort of “liquified” rubber on the outer layers. Do you observe such a film as well? They can be removed temporarily, but that won't stop the process. I have a good amount of such tires. Best Thorsten Quote

Best Thorsten To be honest, the tyres feel very solid and not quite like rubber. They seem dry and dusty, rather than oily. I will give a try with the soapy water and see how I go on. Quote

Auroralampinen Posted January 15 Posted January 15 (edited) Ok, apparently lego stickers are coming of from 4 year old sets. So soon first car transporter gang cars will loose their headlights because they are stickers:). https://zusammengebaut.com/lego-hat-ein-sticker-problem-nach-wenigen-jahren-loesen-sich-die-aufkleber-219579/ But since their motto is the best is good enought. I can accept living without stickered headlights or any details;). And liebherr camed in 2020 so soon that will get the sticker peeling off problem;). But thankfully lego competitors like pantasy and lumibricks have allready switched to pad printing and edge to edge printing on most of their adult sets. And all of mine pantasy sets had only prints. I have the jesko builded so i will now keep close eye on its stickers:). Edited January 15 by Auroralampinen Quote
