Good thing my wife can't stand 'reality' shows & I don't have to watch it :-D Does anyone view "Reality TV" as an inherent oxymoron? It seems that it is impossible for people to act 'normal' in front of cameras... that's just my opinion however... Life is Good. Quote
jonfett Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I'm fed up of it being on in my house. My sis is obsessed with it and I just wanna shoot everyone on it. BOTH my sisters are crazy about it. Last year they even spent money voting! >-| I just can't stand that it is all people talk about and watch! Jon. Quote
Lord Thrawn Posted July 7, 2005 Posted July 7, 2005 I would gladly vapourise people and send them to the Daleks as they did in Dr Who recently. Rubbish, overdone television. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 8, 2005 Governor Posted July 8, 2005 Does anyone view "Reality TV" as an inherent oxymoron? It seems that it is impossible for people to act 'normal' in front of cameras... that's just my opinion however... It seems more like Virutal Reality Television because of the artificial situations which happen in artificial environments. These are further removed from normal reality than a lot of TV dramas. Worst of all many of this "Reality TV" formats have been exhausted to the point where they're boring... Sure they make a few changes every season but not enough to keep the shows fresh and interesting. Quote
Sarg_Kulo Posted July 8, 2005 Author Posted July 8, 2005 oxymoron? Dude, that's twice you've used that word. My mum and my dad don't have a clue what it means, nor do I, just tell me what it means and wether or not your just saying it to sound intelligent :P As for big brother. The teachers at school are beggining to relate lessons to it. In I.T we had to design a poster for who we wanted to get voted off. In english we had to write a diary through the eyes of someone on the show. In drama we had to put a famous family onto the big brother set (I chose fresh prince, but still it's doing my head in). In D.T food I bet were gonna have to cook a meal for them or something. I can't wait for this crap to be over Quote
ImperialJohn Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Here is a little long list of examples of Oxymoron Get it ;) P.S. Why don't you use the "web" to find these things?!? I took like 2 seconds on Google to find this! Quote
languages Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 Big Brother is a Big Bother. Its really annoying and boring. The best one was the Doctor Who Big Brother, now that is what I enjoyed..... Quote
Hobbes Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I'm surprised that show still is popular. I thought it had worn off. I can't say anything about the show itself cos I haven't seen an episode yet - and I won't... PS: As for the oxymoron: you could say it's a word or a combination of words "describing" a contradiction in terms. Quote

For those who don't have access to the station(s) that's been broadcast on, could you explain what that is? Quote

Doctor Who Big Brother? For those who don't have access to the station(s) that's been broadcast on, could you explain what that is? There was an episode of Docter Who with big brother on. It also had Trinny and Susanna and the weakest link. It had references t ground force, countdown and wipeout plus many more. It was a fun episode. Slightly disturbing in places though. Quote
