riccardino Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Hello, I'm really new to building. I like lego but I'm starting now to use Stud.io and creating MOCs I would like to create the HST for my 1:110 Shuttle. Unfortunately, the two cylinders must be 3 and 5 studs. For the 3 studs cylinder, I can use 93168 even if it is only 6 studs long. This sections must be 9 studs long For the 5 studs cylinder, all other MOCs use 60474c02. But the diameter is only 4 studs. How can I create a 5 studs cylinder? Quote
Pattspatt Posted October 3, 2020 Posted October 3, 2020 Concrete Mixer 42112 uses four of the Technic Panel Curved 7x3 (24119) to make its propane tank, which is gives a 5 stud cylinder. Not sure if it’s a smooth enough look for your model, but it might be worth checking out. Quote
riccardino Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 Thanks to both! 68327 seems very interesting. Now I should imagine a way to close the cylinder... Quote
MinusAndy Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 You could use a 3l cylinder and clad it with lift arms held by threading a rubber band through the holes or by using soft axles threaded through them. another possibility is to use tracks around a smallIsh cog then join onto the holes in the tracks. This might be a bit tricky at that scale though. Quote
riccardino Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 Just now, MinusAndy said: You could use a 3l cylinder and clad it with lift arms held by threading a rubber band through the holes or by using soft axles threaded through them. another possibility is to use tracks around a smallIsh cog then join onto the holes in the tracks. MinusAndy Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 You’d likely have to find a wheel that is 3l and use that as a core. Quote
riccardino Posted October 4, 2020 Author Posted October 4, 2020 Got it. Like this one https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=4266#T=S&C=9&O={"color":9,"iconly":0} Quote
MinusAndy Posted October 4, 2020 Posted October 4, 2020 Yeah that would work. There’s a 3l radar dish if you wanted to close off the ends too Quote
