thenightman89 Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 I designed the US Supreme Court in the style of the Architecture Landmark series! Since the building is actually quite long in its depth, I took inspiration from the overall approach of the official Trafalgar Square set. The rear side of the building also features a super micro version of the famous courtroom! Let me know what you think! Quote
jimmynick Posted August 1, 2020 Posted August 1, 2020 Hey there! I see nobody's given this any attention yet so I thought I'd pop in to say it looks like a faithful recreation of an iconic American government building. I think it's great you fit the courtroom in at the back, and I'm impressed how effectively you made the windows turn the corner at the front and sides. I have one nitpick, though, and that's the gap on the top of the roof. Have you thought about how you could improve that at all? Would a piece of white flex tube plug the gap? Lovely MOC and thanks for sharing! Quote

Lovely MOC and thanks for sharing! Thanks for the kind words and sharing your thoughts! I've found that neoclassical pediments are always tough at this scale. For this build, I first tried out the same technique used in the Trafalgar Square set, which I think does a better job at closing the gap at the top. But very confusingly, when I built it in Bricklink Studio, the unsightly gap was still prominent. After a lot of experimentation, a simple hinge is the best solution I could come up with for now.
