NathanR Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I just moved house and now that I have a little more living space, I'm looking for a display cabinet so I can show off some of my larger technic sets like 42009 Mobile Crane, 42066 Air Race Jet and (my all time favourite) 42042 Mercedes-Benz Arocs. I was wondering what kind of solutions you've found for displaying your collections, do you have any suggestions/recommendations for display cases that will keep the dust off the models and won't break the bank? astyanax Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I have 2 of these: https://www.ikea.com/us/en/p/billy-bookcase-with-glass-doors-beige-50323804/ The shelves are large enough to fit 42055 (Bucket Wheel Excavator) or 42082 (Rough Terrain Crane -- very snug). Only my venerable old 8458 (Silver Champion) is too wide... Quote
JGW3000 Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I was going to suggest a trip to IKEA is in your future, they have lots of options, as @astyanax has noted. (Of course, our local IKEA is closed for who knows how long). Quote

I had to mod 42083 with folding mirrors to make sure the tires dont hang over the edge of the shelf :P Quote

Parazels Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 (edited) Don't build huge models! Increase density of gears to make your models more compact and efficient! Edited March 27, 2020 by Parazels Quote
zoo Posted March 27, 2020 Posted March 27, 2020 I have a IKEA Bestå that doubles as LEGO display and TV bench. Glass doors are available but I have yet to mount them. 42054, 42078 (truck only) and 42081 are what is on display at the moment. Next build will probably be the 42043 Arocs. Quote
