Hi, I'm wanting to buy some more PF motors, and was wondering what you guys would recommend.

I'm looking to be able to make models up to as large as the various Tatras scaled to, say, the Unimog/CLASS tires.

I already have:

1x M Motor

3x L Motors

1x Server Motor

1x PF IR Receiver & Remote

I am looking to buy BuWizz, or SBrick (most likely BuWizz), as while taking the video for my TC17 entry, the IR kept cutting out, and I was filming on a cloudy day, in the shade...

Also, I'm from Canada, so would it be best to go with the LEGO shop for PF motors, and is the BuWizz website the only place to buy BuWizz?

'power functions' -> 'PF' in title

I would buy maybe 2 XL motors because they work great with buwizz and offer a lot of torque for big models and its cheaper than the L motor with more power. I personally bought my buwizz just recently and i bought it direcly from them its the best and safest way because of warranty and its 20% off at the moment.

Thanks, I'll probably go with a couple XLs then.

Also, are you sure that BuWizzs are on sale, because I checked, and they don't say anything about that. If they aren't, I'd rather wait, as I can't justify forking over that much $ right now, if it's at the regular price (it shows 130 Euro/150 USD for me).

Yeah sorry its the regular price because on my buwizz starting page it shows 20% but i checked and its not the case 150 USD is the regular price.

Hi,

I've bought buwizz directly from their website and it arrived to Canada no problem, so don't worry.
For Tatras, and I would assume in truck trial specs, I would go with XLs, for sure.

The only thing to keep in mind is that TLG replaces the power functions with Control +, so I would think twice about investing into the dying system. I think, two XLs are not a big deal, though. Just keep in mind they won't be selling them for a long time.

That's actually why I'm wanting to buy the motor now, before they get rare.

When it comes to compactness, and power, Control+ just doesn't look that appealing compared to PF motors + BuWizz/SBrick, not to mention the fact that I have quite a few PF elements already.

Only thing that I see Control+ has going for it is being "programmable" (which I have an NXT for), and motor shape for building.
