Dark_Avenger Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I hated these things at Toyfair, and while they look better now, they're not too great anyways. The tank is definitely my least favorite. I think I'll wind up getting the helicopter. Truth be told, it's a set I think looks pretty good.
Brickmaster Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 my god lego has outdone them selves on the helecopter
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 Darn in tarnations Jezup! These Dino sets might actually take off!
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 These Dino sets might actually take off! look at the bright side...TLC may b in the black this yr finally after nearly a decade of shockers....
Hobbes Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 look at the bright side...TLC may b in the black this yr finally after nearly a decade of shockers.... That'll take some time. I doubt they will be in the black in the near future. It seems they're on the right track, though.
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 look at the bright side...TLC may b in the black this yr finally after nearly a decade of shockers.... Exactly when do consider the start of this decade?
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 i was only referring to the "Lost decade" or "the decade of lost opportunity" by TLC in the 90's.... technically speaking... the current decade starts 1 Jan 2001....
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 Actually I would of said this decade began in 2000. It makes no sense to include the year 2000 as part of the 90's decade to me. But that's irrelevant! I meant when did you consider this "lost" decade to begin?
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 I'm not convinced that decade is over myself! I don't like these dinosaurs... They don't even look like LEGO... Its like throwing another toy into a LEGO set... That just doesn't sit well with me...
jngunsw Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 fair enough... but at least they hv stopped mking jackstone.... city and viking r the highlight 4 me this yr
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 5, 2005 Governor Posted July 5, 2005 City and Vikings are definitely improvements, but they could still go a bit further the reduction of specialised pieces I think. You sure they've stopped with the Jack Stone poop? Look what they did to Pirates in 2004... That was a hideous thing to do!
sam89 Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I find the amount of people who are saying they look better than at Toy Fair funny, considering the sets are still exactly the same as they were then ;)
SuvieD Posted July 5, 2005 Posted July 5, 2005 I think most people mean the dinos not the sets. But if they mean the sets *wacko* your right, funny! :-D
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 I find the amount of people who are saying they look better than at Toy Fair funny, considering the sets are still exactly the same as they were then ;) Did these people actually see these sets in the REAL world at the toy fair? Or are they just going by images? Because images can give different representations of the exact same thing. Many factors can influence the represenstation, including resolution, colour, tone & contrast, brightness, angel, closeness, etc. So perhaps the images since the toy fair have been of a higher calibur thus representating the sets in a better light. Conversely the sets could be just as horrible but the subsequent images could be making the sets look better than what they actually are. As I haven't seen all the images I cannot comment for myself.
jngunsw Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 i hv the impression that a lot of people think the initial versions are often better thean the final released versions? am i the only one who is confused here?
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 Sam did write " I find the amount of people who are saying they look better than at Toy Fair funny, considering the sets are still exactly the same as they were then" Therefore they're exactly the same versions...
jngunsw Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 i hv the impression that a lot of people think the initial versions are often better thean the final released versions? the comment is not referring to the dino set... if i am not mistaken... i hv seen at least two different versions of Harry Potter graveyard ;) no big deal anyway.... we only get to buy what they put on the shelves....
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 When were sets outside the Dino theme mentioned in this thread? Have I missed something here?
Governor Mister Phes Posted July 6, 2005 Governor Posted July 6, 2005 I assumed Sam was referring to pictures of the Dino sets... Is that what everyone else thought? If anybody else has read this far...
yoda601 Posted July 6, 2005 Posted July 6, 2005 The figs are so awesome! And so many red slopey pieces! Dark red! Plus, a three dollar set with a quad-bike that can be used for city, and a cool minifig.
Sauron Posted July 8, 2005 Posted July 8, 2005 I can understand the werid gun names, but calling it a crap series is just insane thats one of the top three series of 2005!
