jsp56 Posted October 19, 2019 Posted October 19, 2019 Hi, I wondered if I could show you some photos of my 9 year old son's new model? He's keen to share it with fellow-enthusiasts. It is an electric car. Here is the first photo. It has an opening roof for access to the control block. Oh dear. I have run out of space in my image budget. How do I add more without maxing out the kb range? I cut the images down from 58cm wide to 5cm wide with 3 quality jpg. Thanks! The exciting bits are that it has a turning key to start the car, and a gyro sensor attached to the streering wheel so that the car can sense when the steerign wheel is being turned. Quote
1963maniac Posted October 20, 2019 Posted October 20, 2019 For the pictrures post them on Bricksafe or anywhere you can post them for free. Then post the link to them on eurobricks. Quote

Then post the link to them on eurobricks. I was just about to say the same @jsp56 I also recommend making a BrickSafe account. You can make a nice collection of pictures of the LEGO models, which you can be easily embedded here. Linking to an external source is something we don't prefer. I like the work on the car! It would be a nice challenge to make the car steerable. What does the sensor do? Quote
jsp56 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 Thanks, I'll find out about Bricksafe. The program hasn't been written yet so we're not quite sure how the gyro sensor does its job. The idea though is that when the gyro sensor changes its orientation then the control block will know that someone has turned the steering wheel and then the car will turn. I think the plan for making the car steerable is to make the wheels work as though they were tank tracks. This is what my son says. Thanks for asking. :-) Does this look like the right kind of thing? https://bricksafe.com/pages/jsp56/ev3rdrive Thanks! Quote

jsp56 Posted October 21, 2019 Author Posted October 21, 2019 That's nifty! Testing now: Brilliant! This system is great. :-) Thanks! My son is watching videos of the 42082 crame and quoting all the spec to me. He thinks it's extremely cool. Quote
Jim Posted October 21, 2019 Posted October 21, 2019 The 42082 is a brilliant model. You can check out my review if you are interested. Quote
