JamesJT Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 (edited) I made a FWD 1997 Beetle from 42096. Instructions are now on Rebrickable. https://rebrickable.com/mocs/MOC-31514/GeyserBricks/moc-42096-b-model-vw-new-beetle-1997/#comments Untitled by James Tillson, on Flickr Edited November 25, 2019 by JamesJT COPPA killed Youtube Quote
Zerobricks Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Wow, what an amazing C model. Not many models here with transversally mounted FWD engine! Quote
dr_spock Posted September 10, 2019 Posted September 10, 2019 Great job. I bought one in 1998. Surprisingly the air conditioning and original clutch still works. Quote
WvG_853 Posted September 11, 2019 Posted September 11, 2019 That’s cool! I had to look up what the 42096 set was again. Did not make a lasting impression on me. Thank you very much for the instructions! Quote

Technically correct, i think many just use "C-model" as a generic term for an alternative model based on a set. Nice work by the way, i really appreciate the poetry in turning a 911 into a beetle :P And always nice to see a transverse front mounted engine Quote

Tomik Posted September 14, 2019 Posted September 14, 2019 This is really cool alternative model. Completely white version looks even better. Good job! Quote
Cristian Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 where are the free instructions gone? are they now paying? Quote
1gor Posted November 21, 2019 Posted November 21, 2019 Actually It looks cool...didn't think that every day car could be so interesting MOC since only super (hyper) cars or offroaders are usual inspiration for MOCs. Quote
linhhhinl Posted November 22, 2019 Posted November 22, 2019 It looks great! I would rather build this than the Porsche to be honest Quote
Cristian Posted November 26, 2019 Posted November 26, 2019 I've started build it with free instructions, now they are gone and are became paying.. first around 5€ , now 10€ .... I think this is unfair... does someone still have free instructions? Quote
