mihao Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 (edited) This is my second wave of 1:12 scaled super car. - In case you missed my first one, here is it: As a huge fun of Lamborghini, I decided to tackle Aventador SV this time. The design is almost done, and below are some CG pictures. Stay tuned for more details and instructions. Edited July 23, 2019 by mihao Quote
AFOLegofan66 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 wow this is an amazing MOC. The lines are fantastic!! Quote
KD123 Posted July 22, 2019 Posted July 22, 2019 Great lines, love the scale - everything is so compact. Well done. Can you share some of the functions you've Incorporated into your design? Quote
mihao Posted July 22, 2019 Author Posted July 22, 2019 Functions include: 1. independent suspension on all 4 wheels. 2. Openable front hood 3. Openable rear hood 4. Openable doors (scissor doors) 5. 2 L motors for driving 6. 1 servo motor for steering 7. Working steering wheel along with steering (540 degree lock-to-lock) 8. Working front lights along with driving motors. 9. Working rear lights along with steering motor. Here are some photos from my prototype real build. (Some parts may have different color than the design.) Quote
iLego Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Outstanding MOC !! Your earlier Vulcan was fantastic, but this one is even better. I absolutely loved both your cars at this scale. The typical larger scale supercars are too big and heavy. I wish Lego was giving such creative sets in this scale. Quote
mihao Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 Just re-did the front side of the design, so it gets closer to what it should look like, pls check the images in the title post. It also give me enough space to put a complete tongue into the mouth. (Not sure what is the official name for the red bar in the middle of the front side.) Quote
WvG_853 Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Wow! What an amazing MOC. The lines are so smooth. Incredible how you managed to do so in such a dense package. I like your creative approach to display the infrared sensor as engine. Quote
Ivorrr Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Love it! I will definitely need to build it but maybe in black I think. Can't wait for instructions Quote
Meatman Posted July 23, 2019 Posted July 23, 2019 Looks nice. Not a big fan of the entire area behind the doors though. Quote
mihao Posted July 23, 2019 Author Posted July 23, 2019 I have to agree with Meatman. The area behind the doors suppose to be a vent as below: It is hard to achieve the overall shape nicely due to the tilt of the vent plus the curves at the top and the bottom. Actually, my daughter hates that part too. :). Let me see if I can find a way to improve it again. (I have improved it many times already, trust me.) Quote
mihao Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 Found a solution for the vents (areas behind the door) as below: I have to sacrifice the angle of the area, but it looks much better overall. Quote

mpj Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 I agree, much better now! Compliments for the entire model Quote
ukbajadave Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 Much improved At this scale I think a small sacrifice in accuracy can be traded for a better overall "feel" and this model now captures the sleekness of the original. As a long time fan of Lamborghinis this is one of the first Lego supercars I've wanted to build myself, are there any super rare or expensive parts? Quote

All parts are original Lego parts, and I don't think I used any super rare or expensive one. Maybe the most expensive one is below: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?P=44#T=S&C=5&O={"color":5,"iconly":0} $6 for each buying in USA. That is why I chose to build a black roof so I can save 4 of them. Quote
