Vote: Q

I've always thought he's a shifty one, and he's just the sort of person to replace two of us with Romulans for a prank.

That would be a rather amusing turn of events.

Without any yeoman around, Ensign Mallory was forced to get the Captain and officers their coffees.

"At least the bridge replicators are working, Jim." McCoy said.

"If only we could get those turbolifts or transporters operational, we could get security up here." Kirk said.

"Can you guys take these? They're really hot."

About 37 hours remain in the day. 5 votes are required for a lynch.

Someone clean the bridge, it's filthy.

Wait...

That would fall to me too, wouldn't it? :sadnew:

Vote: Ensign Chekov: (jimmynick)

While I can appreciate your cultured taste, I can't appreciate your attempt be the first to vote since it does not actually qualify as a real vote. I sometimes associate being the first to vote as a town action, but doing this in the form of a "joke vote" makes me slightly suspicious.

(By the way what happens if we don't lynch somebody? Will the player with the most votes be eliminated?)

Voting for Q is a literal joke, in which I didn't have to say "I don't like your hair" or something to justify I (though actually I don't like my own hair).

I'm not doing anything to "look town" because I don't need to.

How come it took you 30 minutes between posts to decide that my vote for our favorite Albuquerque-based air traffic controller is worthy of a vote itself?

Rules of this here method say we lynch someone or else, so I'm guessing something bad goes, primarily to benefit those romulan imitators. Eliminating the person with the most votes would defeat the majority's purpose and empower the scum.

I think I'm reading this wrong, but this comes across to me as a bit confusing (maybe a typo?). How would it empower the scum? I feel like this comment is a way to seem helpful but somewhat confusing.

I was watering my plants.

My apologies lieutenant. I was saying that if we don't get to the prescribed number for a lynch (5 votes right now), but the person with the most votes is still eliminated (Let's say he had 4) as you asked, then it shifts the tables in favor of the scum, who can work together. 2 votes at the last minute could easily bump someone into first place, without getting them to a majority. So essentially I'm saying that such a policy would be an easier threshold for the scum to push someone over

Didn't end well for the last guy that did that.

Vote: Lieutenant Kyle because he sucker-lynched me in the last game. And he's a red shirt, so they're supposed to be fodder for the fire. This is a half-hearted vote in case I get sucked into work. I, by no means, find Kyle Scummy at this point. Except for his Romulan-like defensiveness to my joke...so I guess I actually do find him the Scummiest. But I have been incredibly busy and want to place a vote so the same shit doesn't happen to me that happened to me last time.

:oh3:

Well, I'm not going to sucker lynch you this time... unless I have to due to Captain Kirk's rules.

Well, it would work once. But then we’d all know who those two romulans were. They’d be in the naked time.

So, not really an advantage to them then, is it?

And if it’s not an advantage, why bring it up or suggest that it is? Feels like you’re just sowing confusion.

26 hours left and we need five collective votes! :damn:

Unvote: Ensign Chekov: (jimmynick)

Vote: Dr. McCoy (Umbra-Manis)

Sorry doctor, but many lives are at stake on this ship, as well as the entire Federation if the Romulans take possession of this vessel.

Vote Count:
Lieutenant Kyle - 1 (Hinckley)
Doctor McCoy - 2 (Chromeknight, Trekkie99)

His explanation is weird, as I mentioned earlier. Just enough to be helpful, but also to generate confusion.

Okay, this is pretty much word-for-word what you said earlier, but are you going to respond the explanation behind his logic, or did you skip that part to post more fluff?

Not to put words into Lieutenant Kyle's mouth, but his response would probably be the obvious, which has already been stated several times now by myself and Lieutenant Uhura.

Asking questions is good, but failing to vote is not. Someone is going to die whether we lynch or not. The difference is that the deceased will most assuredly be a Federation officer if we do not do it ourselves.

Vote: Hinckley (Commander Scott)

For making a joke vote based on a previous game. He’s admitted it’s a half hearted vote. But as. Not sure whether that’s to be believed.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but the comment preceding your vote suggests your primary concern is achieving a lynch, and it doesn't much matter who gets booted off the bridge? Why McCoy? Why not leave your vote on me, misguided as it was?

You say the following:

I think "several" rather overstates your case, and I observe that the post in which you noted McCoy's flawed argument lacks a vote:

You weren't ready to vote for him earlier, but you're right on the heels of Uhura's vote. I wonder if our replicators produce mutton?

Not to put words into McCoy's mouth, but his statement, iffy as it might be, isn't incorrect. We are actively being discouraged from a no-lynch with a threat far greater than normal; the lynch is literally our only tool to find scum. You said yourself that the vote is vital; we're not getting night action results, we're not getting masons to guide us, we can't even chat in private. In a normal game, two late votes for the same suspect would be highly suspicious. This isn't a normal game. We won't be getting many suspects, the day is compressed, and the vote is literally all we have.

I know we need a lynch, and we have to start somewhere, but I don't like how easily this particular bandwagon is moving along based on "McCoy said lynching based on most votes would benefit scum". Kyle said it's suspicious, but waited until Uhura placed the vote to put his money where his mouth is (instead of his constant stream of fluff. Which doesn't constitute activity. Kyle. :hmpf:)

Also, all of this.

I get that you want a lynch here Spock, but that doesn't mean you get to not think about your reasoning for more than five seconds.

I'm going to Vote: Lieutenant Kyle (KotZ) for the time being, though. But I'd be careful jumping to people's defense this early, Spock.

Any reason you couldn't pick up on my joke? Defensive? Does that tone not read on your planet, Romulan? What is the name of your planet? Romulo?

We cannae joke! There's not enough power!!!

As I mentioned in my vote, he is my Scummiest read. I've quoted myself where I first called him out about it. Forgive me for making jokes about it. I'm not considering his feelings too much, he's just a red-shirt. I mean, his name is Kyle. Who still has the name Kyle in whatever century this show takes place in? His name is the Scummiest thing about him.

That's a joke, Sulu. The point is to vote for who you think is Scummy, not who think is too jokey. And I should vote for you for not having your character name in your signature and making me open a new window to find out who you are playing.

That's a joke, too. Good thing you don't get a double vote. :hmpf:
