I switched this to a general LEGO Pokemon topic since I got carried away haha

==============

Here we go, I edited the post with final pics. Suggestions, comments, hatemail, it's all welcome.

===============

Features:

•Amazing movement!

•Mouth opening on command!

•Excellent shaping, much fun, beautiful color!

•The only pieces not available in LBG are the 4 wedges along the jaw and the 2 wedges on the tail.

•The head is hollow, maybe 2 minifigs and a small cat can fit in there...

Thanks, peeps!

I'm taking steps to brick build this thing, supposedly it'll cost around $150US. What's killing me that all those 1x2 curved slopes with the snipped corner are about 50 cents a piece, and I used about 100 of them...so it's $50 just for those!

This Steelix is about 51cm long, 14cm wide. After giving it a pass to "optimize the build and lots", the total piece count is about 800.

@TheGlynreaper I dont have a favorite but I also like Rotom, and that electric bigfoot Electivire

[UPDATE]
I ordered almost all the pieces for this thing and it didn't set my wallet on fire...much. After shipping, it averaged out to about 10 cents a piece.

The problem is all those darn 1x2 curved slopes with the cut corners...I only ordered 24 of those (out of 114!) because one of the sellers I bought from had a handful for "cheap".

Also, are those 1x2 curved slopes ever on the PAB wall?

Here's what's left to buy:

[UPDATE 2]
Whew, one seller had all the joints, they were just a variation.

•Added more brickbuilt pokemon to the first post.

--------------------

In the interest of making this easier for others to build, I replaced many of the expensive curved slopes.

•Replaced many of the slope pieces with a 3x4 wedge piece.

•Reduced the part count by about 60 pieces!

•Reduced the parts cost by about $40!

•And the sections are now ever-so-slightly more rounded and uniform to boot.

my god. pokemon were some of the first things i ever tried to MOC when i was like 8, but they were hideous lumps.

these turned out great. even minimalist-faceless-nightmare-pika is great.

Thanks bub!

I think all our first attempts bordered on nightmare fuel because of limited parts, now is a great time to get into Lego MOCs.

Also, I added Scizor to the pic up there! I'm happy that they all look more or less in scale with each other.

Added another birb

I know the Pokedex says they're only 4 foot tall, but that's nonsense, they should be giant scary legendary creatures haha

Crobat and Shuckle almost built themselves, there isn't much I can use at this scale that will look okay. (Suggestions welcome for any of these though)
