Hello!
This is my latest model: Volvo EC750E in 1:22 scale.

Starting point is the 8043 "ultimate" with 6 motors for 6 functions. The undercarriage is 90% the same, I only had to make it 4 studs longer, and added some details. It also has tracks tensioners.

2 of the motors are hidden in the panel-built arm. In this way, I removed the universals joints in the pivot of the main boom, so it works more fluently, and the arm can be thinner (3 studs at the beginning, then 5 studs).

The LAs are a bit shorter for this excavator, but I'm quite satisfied by the range of movement.

The battery box is on the back and acts as a counterweight. The stickers are home-made. Pneumatic tubes are fake of course...

I will make a video in the next days (and better photos). Happy new year to everybody! :classic:

Hello MPJ

What do jou have a nice project! All the details are very nice

I am building an excavator and I use the Lego Technic 8043 as a base

I have a few questions about the volvo excavator,

and would it be great, if you would help me on that!

  • Do you have a picture inside of the boom. So I can see the power functions M motors to operate the cilinders?
  • Are the M motors in the boom strong enough for the cylinders, or have you delayed them? a
  • Do you use the same batterij box as the 8043 Lego set?
  • I use a XL motor to lift the boom, But i have one problem, when i use the battery box with rechargeable batteries (7,2 volt) then are the M motors weak!  And I would like a strong beam
  • When I connect a 9volt 1500mah adapter on the Lego power functions I/R receiver, it does not work to send a signal  with the remote ontrols to the motors?

Could you help me?
