Web site front page has a link to shop the item. Then i takes you to the item page but it says it is not for sale until 4/5!

If you click the GWP link at the top, it does take you to the correct GWP image though.

Did their web site just crash?

I wonder if the website sales portal hasn't been converted to summer time yet, so it's an hour behind. I'm going to give it ten minutes then give up and send a note of annoyance tomorrow if the GWP sells out in the few hours I'm asleep.

After 1:00am and still nothing. Wow. Most botched release I’ve ever seen.

Well, it's gone 1:00 EST, and still not working. I can't say I'm surprised, and I can't say this is the first time I've been disappointed.

Who knows if it should work. I can get on the product page, but it doesn't recognize it as a wish list item, nor can I access my wish list, suggesting that the website isn't working correctly, which may be the cause of the issue. Or it's timing. Or it's LEGO being LEGO and anything digital they do is subpar. Sigh.

Is their IT team part of the federal agencies? I thought  the downsizing is only for the US government?

It's so especially irritating given the hype they build with an extremely limited GWP and then fail to allow you to buy it. Fine, don't have a sufficiently stable website to support online sales in a timely manner, but if you do, make sure the exclusive GWP you have been promoting lasts for more than a few hours. I'm hoping it's still there in the morning. Night everyone! Good luck!

At least its done. I really hope people don't miss out because they didn't wait. For people on the East Coast this is totally ridiculous. I guess I can sleep soundly knowing that I got what I wanted.

By any chance, has anyone compiled some sort of list of torsos / heads / hairpieces that work well to make additional hobbits? Well mostly torsos in fact, heads and hairpieces are easier to navigate.

I went to bed. Fortunately the GWP is still available now, so I have it ordered. Phew! I don't think it's worth a huge amount to me, but as I don't see this getting a discount, based on the previous set not being discounted in the US, it feels like it offsets the cost of it reasonably enough. Looking forward to building Bag End and seeing how others might combine all the side builds together and pondering my own approach.

Really glad to see a bunch of people getting it at launch. Hopefully everyone who tried to get one did, and were able to get the GWP. Mine went through at about 1:30, got the GWP, it’s still in process but hopefully won’t have any issues.

Woke up early and got it, looks like it went live at 2am eastern.  Thankfully I was able to get it and the gwps

 

Now let’s see how long shipping takes.
