valenciaeric Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 Promobricks were the fellows who said Saturn V was retiring 2 years ago, so they are not 100% reliable. Perhaps this set will come out but in 2020. It would make more sense as a 2020 1HY release. Quote

Following this years 42096 Porsche licenced set as 1H flagship with similar price would make more sense indeed. Official presentation in October maybe (is there some Landrover event planned at the same time?)... Quote
mpj Posted March 8, 2019 Posted March 8, 2019 That means that there are already 9 hidden sets between the Liebherr (42100) and the Landrover (42110) ? Quote

No official date yet, but an Autocar article from last year (click) refers to the launch of the new Defender in he autumn of 2019: " Although the firm remained tight-lipped, sources have suggested it is likely to be launched in autumn next year, with first deliveries then following in early 2020." EDIT: If this set proves to be a model of the new LR Defender, I'm hoping for something which looks suitably utilitarian like this render a well known German car magazine made: Edited March 8, 2019 by Cumulonimbus Photo added Quote

Seasider Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 (edited) I think the Landy could be a tie in to the new Defender. Frankfurt motorshow is September and that’s classed as one of the “big ones” in the industry for car launches. So that would then tie in with an October model https://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-cars/new-land-rover-defender-2019 Edited March 9, 2019 by Seasider Quote

1gor Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 Interesting how we manage to turn 2019 sets topic into 46ers Quote
Seasider Posted March 9, 2019 Posted March 9, 2019 I’m not 46 yet ... still a couple of months away Quote
Saberwing40k Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 Oh great, everyone's an old fart. Well, I'm not. I think we do have a number of young and younger fans on this forum. But not any kids, thankfully. Back on topic, I really thinks Lego risks overstretching the Technic brand if they include to many cars with minimal functionality. That should be in Racers. Quote

rm8 Posted March 10, 2019 Posted March 10, 2019 42110 could be a hidden code. Model should be 110 inch wheelbase, that means 5 door version https://www.motor1.com/news/301323/2020-land-rover-defender-spied/ Quote
