I wish Creator would embrace Classic Themes more.

...and beyond! As I've said elsewhere countless times before, Creator can (and should) be a haven for homeless themes and genres that once had or never had a place in Lego's lineup historically. In a way, Creator should be akin to the non-licensed Collectable Minifigure line, a place for sets of particular genres that currently no theme that could house at the time.

Wow, is that true? Because Creator is probably my favourite theme. I feel it really captures the essence of what LEGO is all about.

TLG really needs to prioritize it more in terms of expansion and promotion.

Although I don’t buy creator sets, I couldn’t agree more!

Not much Creator news yet.

Interested to see if they continue the Modular style for 3-in-1 buildings.

And also how the Space Shuttle Transport turns out, could be a Truck, Airplane, or even the Crawler-Transporter.

Would love a 747 style plane+shuttle but it'd have to be a really big set then, unless they go back to Microscale.

They also just had a 3-in-1 Shuttle in 2017. So I wonder how it compares.

I was speculating these same ideas on the first page and the Space Shuttle on a 747 is what I would most like to see I actually figured it would probably end up being a van/bus like vehicle like you would see at the airport, you know a shuttle transport. I do sure hope it is a Space Shuttle Transport though, fingers crossed.

I mostly was like thinking of the 1992 truck+shuttle  & 1995 airplane+shuttle sets, but since then vehicle scale, especially Creator ones got up to 8 studs wide instead of 4, so I think it's just too big to realize at that scale.

I hope it's not some microscale like this:

Of course , Shuttle could be a bus like you said too, since they did make a 3-in-1 Space Shuttle as recent as last year, and a Truck this year for the Stunt Show.

While most City bus sets have been 6 stud wide,  Friends had a 8 stud wide Pop Star Tour bus in 2015.

Seeing how the 8 stud wide Vacation Getaway 2016 set had some creative builds as alternates (a yacht and a house), it still has potential even if its a passenger bus.

There are two leaked 2019 Creator set picture on instagram. One is Deep sea Creature (a medium sized brick built shark with smaller crab and a treasure chest. The other is a deep see explorer robot thing.

Sounds great, I haven’t seen these pics yet in the IG hashtags I look at but it’s just a matter of time. Thanks!

Well, the shuttle transporter is exactly what it sounds like! And it's very well executed too.  I think they did a much better job in midi-scale than I would have expected for mini scale or minifig scale.  As usual for the past few years, much of the rest of the line is City-lite: a dune buggy for the kids who missed the City dune buggy last year, a Le Mans-inspired car for the kids who missed the Speed Champions Le Mans cars this year and two years before that.

Only one out of those I like is the Shuttle Explorer, a. because I love space related stuff, b. the scale kinda reminds me of Tiny Turbos so that brings fond memories. Any other sets showing up that have clear pictures?

Well, if you ask me, the main build for that Sunset Track Racer set is probably the coolest looking build for this wave, while the first alternate build for the Futuristic Flyer set looks to me to be the closest thing the Creator theme has had to a starfighter. Slowly but surely... :smug:

The interesting thing to me is that none of these come with minifigs. Last year's creator sets seemed to weigh more heavily than usual in favor of minifig scale sets, so these feel a bit more like older style creator sets to me.

Is this all we're getting for Creator this winter? I'm hoping there will be some new buildings/houses as well.

There are three four more sets, per BrickMerge (and translator):

  • 31090 Underwater Robot, 20 €
  • 31092 Helicopter Adventure, 10 €
  • 31093 Houseboat 30 €
  • 31094 Racing Aircraft 30 €

Only one house from this wave sadly. Also it seems that only 31092 and 31094 will come with minifigs, the latter being a somewhat continuation of this year's 31085 Stunt Show should have at least a pilot (just my speculation, I haven't seen it yet, I may be mistaken).

From what we've seen today, I'm digging Sunset Track Racer and especially Deep Sea Creatures. I'm slightly disappointed with Shuttle Transporter, the shuttle itself looks neat but the truck looks weird not having proper cabin for a minifig, and the secondary builds look boring.

Hmmm, well, the Racing Aircraft set could be interesting (Crimson Skies anyone?); or, it'll just be another rehash as somewhat expected from this theme nowadays... :def_shrug:

The Not-a-Berkut there is a missed opportunity. They should have made that bad boy minifigure scale and called it the Red Power Jet. It would have paired nicely with 31039

Having seen it, it's definitely passable for something out of Crimson Skies. Looks like they based it off of the F4U.

Hopefully 31093 will be minifig scale as well. I'm quite interested to see how this one will turn out. "Houseboat" could be interpreted to mean something like a canal barge or a British style narrow boat which I would love to see made from LEGO.

Image result for canal boat

Just checked back through this thread though and in an earlier post the set was known as "River Boat house". So it will perhaps more likely turn out to be a small riverside building with a boat docked at the side. I guess it depends on how the title is translated in to English, but either way I am intrigued to see how that set turns out.

We definitely need some more Creator buildings. I've just looked at the "retiring soon" list and a massive amount of Creator sets are on the list. Almost all of the recent buildings with modular elements are getting cut. The only left in production will be the Modular Skate house, Sweet surprises and the recent pirate tree house.

It comes with 2 minifigs, but it's not what I'd call a spacious set. Think along these lines:

Houseboat.jpg

Comes with a brick-built crocodilian and bird, plus an orange fish for the figures to "catch". Has a sand green, black and white hull, white cabin roof. I really can't make out the alternate builds. One might be a smaller boat with a dock facility, the other appears to be a small float plane and even smaller boat? All I can definitely make out is the fishing pole in that one.

Thanks for confirming. :classic:  Are there leaked images of this set doing the rounds already then?

There was a video up on youtube/instagram of someone flipping though the entire catalog. :classic:

Not really sure why or what I was expecting but none of these sets do I like. I will almost certainly buy all the sets eventually, as usual, just they don't appeal to me like the Turbo Track Racer did or that green rocket car or the beach van did last year.

Hmmm, I'm having trouble finding the video. :look: Could you at least describe the Racing Aircraft set like you had did for the Houseboat?

I've searched high and low for the video so I assume it has been taken down now.

Anyway your description of the boat makes it sound quite a bit like the style of this secondary build from 31051 Creator Lighthouse.
