Pate-keetongu Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 Villa Great Agano was built for a house exhibition contest on LUG show at HupiCon 2018. I ended up with a design mixing Finnish Art Nouveau villa with medieval Japanese fortress. The build began with the cobbled foundations with overlapping boat studs. The tower was always going to the there, but its height was limited to 25 bricks by the contest rules. There is a garage in the back. This was a fast built, 8 hours or so, as I had still plenty to do with my New Century City Block II. More on Cyclopic Bricks. Quote
LegoModularFan Posted June 3, 2018 Posted June 3, 2018 (edited) Awe inspiring MOC as always!! Just can't express how I'm happy you start to focus on architecture and the way you care for your fans of all types is astonishing!! Keep your incredible work even "upper"!! Sounds waaay too over-excited, I'll start over... You made it again, @Pate-keetongu! Another one packed with amazing techniques as well as NPU's. I just love the tree, the use of the boat studs and the shaping, especially on the roof (which reminds me of somewhat an observatory ). Interesting color scheme, I wasn't sure about it at the first glance but it ended up growing a lot on me. This MOC is a proof that one doesn't need to build a huge MOC to make it look gorgeous! Keep up your amazing work! BTW, where can I find some more info about the contest this is built for? Thanks in advance! Edited June 4, 2018 by LegoModularFan Quote

My first immediate thought was a rocketship, but that's just me. This is an adorable beauty @Pate-keetongu, I just love both color pairing of Sand Green with Earth Orange and the boat stud cobblestoning. Quote
carebear Posted June 4, 2018 Posted June 4, 2018 I Like this, - the oldstyle door works great with this build Great Work! Greetings! Quote
Man with a hat Posted June 7, 2018 Posted June 7, 2018 Nice. That's something different and that tower is done in a clever way. I like it. Quote
greg3 Posted June 10, 2018 Posted June 10, 2018 That is a really nice build!! Love the clever parts usage for the tower shape (as others have said, it has a real "observatory feel" to it!!) and I really like the texture effect of the curved 2x2 round boat plates too. All in all, excellent work!! Quote
Bricked1980 Posted June 11, 2018 Posted June 11, 2018 This a is a beautiful and unique looking moc. I love the shape of the dome section and the colours look great and work together really well. The grey contrasts really nicely with the orange/brown colour. Another thing I like is how you've used handcuffs to create the decorative features at the base of the steps leading up to the door.
