HorcikDesigns Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) Hi, I would like to show you my new MOC. it is Leadsled, that I once promised to build. 1K - Cutaway Leadsled by Horcik Designs I wanted to build big red car, that would fit nicely on display next to my Tatra T2-603. (visit my Flickr or Scale modelling forum here to find photos of it) It features 4-forward gearbox, working steering wheel, no HOG (it is display model), huge but fake V8, openable doors with locks, openable trunk with gravitational lock (it is too heavy to stay opened) and detachable hood. And loads of minor details and holes. What?! 1K - Cutaway Leadsled by Horcik Designs, on Flickr 1K - Cutaway Leadsled by Horcik Designs, on Flickr This MOC was directly inspired by cutaway technical drawings of cars. In my opinion, all original Technic model were supposed to look like 3D-ized cutaway drawings. Bublehead Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) Let me say, wow. I love this MOC. This is the kind of outside the box thinking that is pure genius IMHO. Way to go. Top shelf quality. Edited May 22, 2018 by Bublehead Quote
JonathanM Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Love the concept and execution is wonderful. Great work! Quote

jrx Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Wow, this is really cool. Great MOC for exhibitions as one can spot so many details inside and outside. Very well done! Quote
Thirdwigg Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Another fun MOC. The engine looks great, and I love the drooping slope of the rear trunk. Great job again. Quote
Leonardo da Bricki Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Wow. That's really impressive, excellent work! My favorite detail is the cut-away chair. Quote
DugaldIC Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Oh very cool idea! That looks like a great display model, showing off the clean lines and internals all at once Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 (edited) Thank you all! I am really glad that you like it. Had a nice time in my improvised photo studio with this car and this model I met somewhere in shopping centre. I think the mall's name had something to do with bricks and links. Enjoy! Edwin Korstanje Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 Stunning creation and love the out of box thinking. Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted May 22, 2018 Author Posted May 22, 2018 Thank you. It was exactly what I aimed to build. :) I also added chassis photo 1K Leadsled chassis by Horcik Designs, on Flickr Quote
KD123 Posted May 22, 2018 Posted May 22, 2018 When building Madoca's Baja Trophy Truck I was so impressed with the inner beauty of the car that I only ended up building half of the body to showcase the rollcage. This is a great way to showcase shaping and functionality. Well done. Quote
Saberwing40k Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 This is really cool, the wireframe vs. filled in side is really neat, and nicely splits the difference between the two approaches. Quote
mocbuild101 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Very nice! I don't think I can find anything wrong with it... 2 hours ago, Saberwing40k said: This is really cool, the wireframe vs. filled in side is really neat, and nicely splits the difference between the two approaches. Agreed, it's been done perfectly... Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted May 23, 2018 Author Posted May 23, 2018 Thank you. I am really glad you like it. :) 10 hours ago, mocbuild101 said: Very nice! I don't think I can find anything wrong with it... I bet you'll end your research with many flaws, when looking closely. For example - the floor under the seats is too high, that it is impossible to imagine person driving it in comfortable, nor anatomically acceptable position. :D 15 hours ago, KD123 said: This is a great way to showcase shaping and functionality. That is the reason I built it this way. :) I've been also thinking about making this with some of the original sets. Quote
rm8 Posted May 23, 2018 Posted May 23, 2018 Great and very bold creation! "Designs" in your nickname is not an empty sound Quote
HorcikDesigns Posted May 24, 2018 Author Posted May 24, 2018 @rm8 Thank you very much. It is really old nickname, but I try my best to fulfill it's meaning both in aesthetics and engineering. Quote
