Hey guys,

I am looking for some washers to fit on technic axles to help with some very marginal space issues. I'd like them to be roughly the dimensions of the 1/2 bushings. Anyone have any links or suggestions?

Thanks, Jeffinslaw

ACE hardware carries a good stock of nylon washers. The ID and thickness will work for you but the OD is definately bigger than the OD of a technic bushing. Perhaps you can cut them down. A well stocked hobby store will also have plastic washers. They are used for RC cars bodies, on servos and RC airplanes.

ACE was my first stop. Found some that were really close to being perfect. ID and thickness were great but OD was about 2mm too big.

Chuck them in a drill or Drexel tool and sand them down? Or use a technic bushing to trim them with a knife?

Wouldn't work quite well since they are metal

There is these guys at

http://www.modelfixings.co.uk/washers.htm

They sell nylon washers which can fit over a Lego Technic Axle and they dispatch worldwide

I use the M5 nylon washers which the inside diameter is 5.3 mm, the outside diameter is 11 mm and the thickness is 1 mm

I have used over twenty of them in my 16mm scale Lego Lady Anne narrow gauge steam locomotive, I had to use the nylon washers to set the wheels to 32 mm gauge track.

There are 3 nylon washers between the Big Ben XL Train Wheels and the Technic Brick 1x2 with hole, and two between the were driving wheels

@zephyr1934's Bricklink store sells  what I think you might be looking for. He made them for drive-rods as spacers in the rods and valve-gear. I remember seeing them when I purchased some rods from him. They are 3D printed so they might have more friction than a nylon or metal washer.

I recently built a MOC with a non-standard gauge and needed washers to get the spacing right. I could use bushings and gaps to make it work without washers, but as soon as it gets nudged on the track or ??? it would lose the gauge. I just took a technic axle to the hardware store and found whatever standard washer fit on it. I think the ones I got were about 1mm thick. I don't remember the size off the top of my head, but I have the package downstairs if you have problems finding washers on your own.

Oh, and thanks for the shout out ALCO, though the washers I sell are intended to get the spacing precise for valve gear bars.
