Here's the latest from my ship-building binge, the carrack Hidalga.

The crew is busy at work:

There's a discussion on the quarterdeck:

The lookout scans the horizon through his looking glass:

Captain Hugo Pinzon looks back into the mourning sun:

But soon his attention returns to tasks on deck as they sail to their destination.

A bird's eye view:

One more normal view:

Another lovely ship my only change would be the furthest most black stripe to grey to match the hull ... Or swap in the black off a grey hull...

I dont think i ever grow tired of those sails

A nice ship. I like the thickness and strength of the hull shown by the brown bricks at the side of it (don't know how to describe this better).

I like the increased contrast of the pictures, I think 2-3% darker and it's quite perfect already.

Another sweet looking ship Capt Wolf! I like the bow on this one!

Thanks! That was a fun and challenging part of the build.

Thanks. And I had the exact same thoughts regarding the stripe/hull colors after I started. If I can get my hands on a black top piece without destroying my existing gray hulls, I definitely want to try that.

Thanks. I don't know what to call them, either. Ribs? But they really help give the ship its shape. I was happy with the effect. And thanks for your photo suggestions. Next step is to upgrade my jury-rigged light box.

@Capt Wolf... I found splitting the hulls was easier with a standard blade screwdriver just set it down in from the to into the lock tabs and wiggle until it comes open.   I found that does less damage at least for me then the butter knife method in tutorials.

Unless your talking of actually splitting the ship up lol ... I put the grey on grey and never turned back I really love the black on brown... Part of me still wants to buy the old crossbones hull parts for all black ... Might have to build a green boat on white though
