It uses a 24t gear with parts inserted into the 4 holes instead of a knob wheel. Apparently TLG also managed to make it so tight, that it doesn't need a 90-degree limiter like in this video. Hopefully the new orange selector pieces have been made such that there are short moments of zero engaged driving rings during shifts, instead of short moments of double engaged driving rings, which was the case in the Porsche. The 24T white clutch gear in the part list has me scared. Quote

Well you would think that anyone that is carrying exclusive products by Lego would at least be on the same page. That stepper mechanism looks a lot like one I have seen floating around in these forums, only using https://rebrickable.com/parts/90258/brick-special-2-x-2-with-grooves-and-axle-hole/ instead of the 24 tooth gear and bits. A print/sticker of some kind is obviously needed to represent the shape of the door and dash amongst other things. Printed pieces - more “quality” look but may be difficult to print on some pieces Stickers - means you don’t have to apply them and so can use the parts for other models. Also means parts that aren’t in Lego’s standard printed piece set can have images on Quote

The "affordability" is more related to premium building experience that includes fancy packaging and an instruction book with beautiful photos and car history. Well that is especially true for the real world Bugatti, for most people the only chance to own a Bugatti will be a miniature or now also a LEGO version I'm afraid. Near Harrods in London (close to Knightsbridge metro station) is a Bugatti store and they also show one in Autostadt / Wolfsburg, very nice cars, but even for a lot of the rich just a step too far. Everything is build by hand. Quote
