Hunted...

Journal Entry, Unknown day, second day in the jungle.

After my unfortunate run in with that dreaded sea disease, scurvy (here). I left for Nova Terreli with my brother, Andrew. On our seventh day of journey, we encountered a furious storm, which blew us in all sorts of directions. Only after the storm had calmed down did we realize that our ship had begun to take in water. Our brave capitan ordered for repairs to be made but we had only just begun when another storm began, this one much worst than the former. The ship was torn apart, and only through sheer luck did Andrew and myself find ourselves together on the beach of some strange island, which I do not like in the slightest. I have the strange feeling we are being watched. I do hear that pineapple is good for those with scurvy, which I see plenty of on this island. I will continue to write when the appropriate time occurs. --Stephen

Hunted...

This is a beginning build for my December AMRCA. Hopefully I did the title right. This is my first real build for BOBS. I don't have the largest piece count, let alone plant pieces, so I have to make do with what I have. I'm pretty happy with the turnout.

Very nice build! That's everything you need for an AMCRA, assuming you filled out the paperwork. I would also suggest making it clear to the leadership what exactly what the goal of your AMCRA is, it really helps the leadership know what options to give you on your adventure.

I like it I think it conveys the scene just fine plus i like your pikeman (skull on a stick)

Thanks! I have another base prepped and ready for my prompt/choices.

Great minifig posing, amazing use of limited bricks, and very nice overall composition. The story is really interesting too, and I will be looking forward to seeing where it goes!

A note: To participate in the AMRCA, you have to commit some form of resource (troops or a vessel licensed in the EGS). I personally created and licensed a class 0 liferaft for a similar adventure.  Of course, one is limited with such small resources, but stranded on a deserted island, you are unlikely to have more resources anyway! :pir-wink:

I really like the first photo. The minifig posing there is great! The framing of the photo, combined with the blurry background gives it a sense of urgency as the characters run through the jungle. The technique for the palm tree is interesting, I don't think I've seen one built like that before.

Really nice little scene, Cub - as others have said, the vegetation and palm tree are quite good, and the blur and spear with the skull give a neat tense feeling to the build!  Looking forward to seeing the savages where this goes!

Excellent scene. I think some of the best builds are small vignettes that make fewer pieces work more, and you have done that. Great use of the foliage pieces you have, good details (pineapples, skull on pike), excellent minifig composition and posing, good photography and good storytelling. Well done!

Thanks! I suppose I've got limited resources too, (that's why I built a vignette) I'll see what I can do with a raft. If I do licence it, I can participate, correct?

Thanks! I like being the first to use a technique, whether it's good or bad. :pir-sweet:

Thanks a ton! I've got some savages  -er natives in the works, I'm playing with some ideas. They should turn out good! (I hope)

Thanks Capt! Better get used to the vignettes, that's all that I'll be doing for a while.

Oh, my! That's probably the best looking raft I've seen in BoBS, so far! So you shouldn't be so harsh on it . I especially like the capes as sails, but there are so many nice details, the fish, chain, flag, bucket etc!

I've gotta echo what others have said. Lovely raft and great use of posing to make it look dynamic. You seem all set on the AMRCA! :)

@TheCubbScout

The first couple days had been though. They had spotted a couple signs of life on the island, but hadn't met anyone yet. Looking for the highest part of the island to get an overview, they had gotten lost; having no idea about their location, it was quickly decided to follow their steps back for a little while. Half a mile out, Andrew noticed something on the floor - a giant paw print. Something may be following them; what to do now?

Safe: We should build a shelter; this might also be useful if we get bad weather soon...

Risky: We have seen signs of natives around here. Try finding them - with a bit of luck they aren't hostile and we find them before the cat finds us!

Elaborate: We should follow the paw prints and keep an eye out on our back, ready to defend ourselves. If we use our Machete and Hatchet we can take out this wild beast! The pelt may be worth something..
