BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 (edited) There is already a beautiful saddletrac MOC which was built by @efferman but I wanted to build a saddletrac using only pieces from the 42054 set. Here are the function: -3 steering modes -2 PTOs (1 top, 1 back & front) -attachments, currently undecided Here's what I've got so far: I did the front first specifically so I could ration DBG pieces. If you have any attachment ideas or constructive criticism, please leave a comment. Thanks! BrickbyBrickTechnic Edited October 14, 2017 by BrickbyBrickTechnic Quote
Aventador2004 Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 How much of the inside is the same as the regular 42054? I never found time to try making one, I wanted to make without the same inside as the regular model. i envy your c model skills. Are any extra pieces used yet? Where is the hog? Is it the grey gear? If so, move it or you will have no steering with a trailer attached! Quote

All else was changed because the BB needed to be lowered. Just now, Aventador2004 said: Are any extra pieces used yet? Nope. Just now, Aventador2004 said: Is it the grey gear? BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted October 8, 2017 Author Posted October 8, 2017 Here's a quick picture demonstrating BB replacement. Note: It's really easy. The cab is attached by 2 pins and is super securely fastened to the chassis. Quote
1gor Posted October 8, 2017 Posted October 8, 2017 Looks nice but as it is allready mentioned steering mode selector could cause problem for trailer Quote

My wip xerion has fake engine and 4wd but steering is causing me a headachse. So I have finished Unimog chassis... Quote

BrickbyBrickTechnic Posted October 9, 2017 Author Posted October 9, 2017 UPDATE TIME! The actual tractor is done. Anyone have attachment ideas? If you're wondering about the HOG steering knob, it seems like the trailer hitch is behind the HOG wheel. Check the above post and confirm this if you can. Pictures: Here's the rear: The black thing is supposed to be the 3 point hitch... how does it look? Raised. Now, the big question: is the trailer hitch point where the finger is pointing? Thanks for your answer! BrickbyBrickTechnic Quote

I will build the (cool) attachment (one of your suggestions) from other pieces. There were only about 700 pieces left after finishing the tractor part. Quote
Aventador2004 Posted October 9, 2017 Posted October 9, 2017 I am loving this so far, i wish i had had the inspiration to build one. I just think, even replicating the real deal, the 3 point hitch is not good. it will not be easy to attach a crane, lawn mower, or get in the way of the trailer. I don"t like the rear light angle, it looks to bend pieces. Quote

I do plan to restore the original PTO setup since the attachment I'm doing with the leftover pieces will have to attach there to ensure good weight distribution. The rear lights don't bend pieces (they're attached to "hinges") but I'm looking into a better solution. Quote
