Aggrevation when buy Pirate LEGO

I have found that buying lego pirate sets on Ebay is getting harder and harder, due to the rising costs, hence I usually buy blacktron troops now! X-D

Personally, I have not bought anything in a wee while. In fact, the last items I even looked at were Shako's. A guy was selling about 3 lots of a half dozen LEGO Shako's. I didn't grab 'em because I was on a break from buying stuff. Shame really, I'm thinking of expanding 2nd Battalion

I've noticed the prices have increased quite a bit over the past 3 years. Still, if you're diligent enough you can get some good deals.

Just today i received a large amount of pirate lego for $120 that is after all costs. The renegade runner is not even complete.

I've stopped buying sets of Ebay and similar sites.

There are some trusted sellers out there, but most send incomplete rubbish.

But that isn't a problem if the price is right i think. :-$

What i also dislike is that when you send an email with the parts missing and the seller doesn't even reply! *n*

For Dutch buyers on Marktplaats i can give you a few names of trusted sellers:

Those are good people, they always send complete sets at decent prices. *y*

With both my SES and BSB, the sellers had not correctly built the spars on the masts - I always get a jumble of odd plates that don't match the instructions |-/ The string is normally messed up too

And DUST! Yeesh! Some are ingrained with the stuff; I like my ships, well, shipshape, so they get a thorough bashing with the holy stones first! X-O

But, on another note, I always love how you get a large number of underclothed and underarmed and uncomplete pirates just because they couldn't find Cap'n Roger anywhere! Such a great return! X-D I got 10 extra scurvy dogs in exchange for the elusive Steve! :-P

I've only gotten the Cannon Cove and Emporer's ship off Ebay.

Otherwise i almost always buy from BL.

The sellers there seem more reliable too.
