Sir Norman Ray Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Personally, my greatest annoyance, is the labeling. Too often I find Redcoats made out to be Armada troops, meaning I have been known to miss decent lots. I mean, it's so flamin' annoying! Also, since I started the South Essex, the same person has been doing the same item at the exact same price. One Redcoat over Quote

Sir Norman Ray Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Probably not, with the sheer amount of men I have now! Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 Probably not, with the sheer amount of men I have now! That maybe, but do you have ships and settlements as well? ;-) Quote
Sir Norman Ray Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 not really. i like armies on show my self. Quote
Lord Of Pies Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 I have found that buying lego pirate sets on Ebay is getting harder and harder, due to the rising costs, hence I usually buy blacktron troops now! X-D Quote
Sir Norman Ray Posted February 13, 2008 Author Posted February 13, 2008 Personally, I have not bought anything in a wee while. In fact, the last items I even looked at were Shako's. A guy was selling about 3 lots of a half dozen LEGO Shako's. I didn't grab 'em because I was on a break from buying stuff. Shame really, I'm thinking of expanding 2nd Battalion Quote
Inertia Posted February 13, 2008 Posted February 13, 2008 >:-( The problem is that so many people want Pirate sets that the prices go sky high... I once bought some men for 10AUD each... Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted February 14, 2008 Governor Posted February 14, 2008 I've noticed the prices have increased quite a bit over the past 3 years. Still, if you're diligent enough you can get some good deals. Quote
Captain Ka-Boom Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 Just today i received a large amount of pirate lego for $120 that is after all costs. The renegade runner is not even complete. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I've stopped buying sets of Ebay and similar sites. There are some trusted sellers out there, but most send incomplete rubbish. But that isn't a problem if the price is right i think. :-$ What i also dislike is that when you send an email with the parts missing and the seller doesn't even reply! *n* For Dutch buyers on Marktplaats i can give you a few names of trusted sellers: Daver, Zuid Holland Kinderdroom Those are good people, they always send complete sets at decent prices. *y* Quote
SlyOwl Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 With both my SES and BSB, the sellers had not correctly built the spars on the masts - I always get a jumble of odd plates that don't match the instructions |-/ The string is normally messed up too And DUST! Yeesh! Some are ingrained with the stuff; I like my ships, well, shipshape, so they get a thorough bashing with the holy stones first! X-O But, on another note, I always love how you get a large number of underclothed and underarmed and uncomplete pirates just because they couldn't find Cap'n Roger anywhere! Such a great return! X-D I got 10 extra scurvy dogs in exchange for the elusive Steve! :-P Quote
Capn Frank Posted February 14, 2008 Posted February 14, 2008 I've only gotten the Cannon Cove and Emporer's ship off Ebay. Otherwise i almost always buy from BL. The sellers there seem more reliable too. P Quote
