Vindicare Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Hmm...order is random Quirrell, I just love how perfect they captured Voldemort’s face. Hermione, from the sets. This hair is, broken record, perfect for her. Snape, just because he’s my dude. Trelawney & Moody, nice to have new teachers(even though one is a rerelease-I never had the old Moody). Quote
spiderfan2000 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) Top 5 for me is: 5. Luna Lovegood (An overall great update on the character) 4. Professor Trelawney (MUCH better looking and easier to find than the previous one) 3. Michael Gambon Dumbledore (The new sloped robe piece, hat/hair combo, and beard piece all make this much better looking then the previous version) 2. Nearly Headless Nick (An amazing first take on a previously unmade character) 1. Mad-Eye Moody (Already a great update, but the alternate face and hairpiece are an excellent touch that make the figure even better) Honorable Mentions: Richard Harris Dumbledore, Hagrid, Young Hermione, Remus Lupin, and Invisibility Cloak Harry I also went to Barnes and Noble earlier and got a mini Hogwarts Express. Definitely a fun little build for what it is. While I was there, I bought the last two CMF bags they had left and got Hermione (with Crookshanks), and Professor Flitwick. DungeonsAndFlagons Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 I can’t believe I forgot to include Hagrid. He should have been on my list. A very well done minifig. So far Luna, Trelawney and both versions of Dumbledore seem to be the most popular. Quote
dinges44 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 My Harry in PJs has a cape which is somewhat wrinkled. What is the best way to get it good again? Iron it? Or put it under heavy books? Quote

Seaber Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 Only Cedric, Cho and Dean haven't been released in Harry Potter sets beforehand from the series 1 CMS. Also, only Neville and PJ Harry aren't really updates from old figs. Quote
Whovastron Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) Am I the only one who thinks the face prints for the CMF are really off? Compare Newt and Jacob to their set counterparts. The printing is really thick and the eyes are way too big, and a lot of the spacing and sizes of details on the CMF faces doesn’t fit the usual Lego design; like Cedric and Ron. My Newt looks almost like a knock-off because the lines are so thick. And Jacobs face looks almost twice as big as his set counterpart. Harry’s glasses are way bigger on the cloaked version than the jumper version in the sets. And then the two Grindlewald figures are just incomparable. its honestly like the graphic designer had a day off when these got approved. The quality all round for the series looks quite low Edit: also comparing Tina’s smiling face to her smiling face from the set is completely different Edited August 5, 2018 by Whovastron Quote
Ultron Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 My 5 best from this wave: 1) Trelawney -talk about glowing up! The old one was in such a need for an update 2) Flitwick -this is a great update and it's really accurate looking. 3) Queenie from CMF -the printing is quite impressive and the resemblance is really good 4) Hagrid -it's just really cute! 5) Ron from CMF -spot on Luna, Hermione, and Gambon Dumbledore are honorable mentions. ETELENZOS92 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 (edited) The Devil Snare room of Hogwarts D2C is on the left side when you separate the building part from the marble staircase tower, just behind the Flying Keys Chamber. You can see it on Instagram on the legofanbubba user photos Edited August 5, 2018 by ETELENZOS92 Quote

Fenghuang0296 Posted August 5, 2018 Posted August 5, 2018 1. Cho (finally some representation for my house! I actually don't like her, but all the same!) 2. Mad-Eye (those dual-moulded legs are just beautiful!) 3. Sybil Trelawney (simply gorgeous. Nothing else to say.) 4. Dean Thomas (beautiful printed scarf, and I love the flag too.) 5. Boggart Snape (the simple fact that this exists makes me happy.) Quote

Maybe this was mistaken for the Devil’s Snare? Quote

No, in legofanbubba‘s latest photo on instagram you can see the Great Hall + tower and the other part of the castle being built on in the back, where the devil snare room is. Quote
Ltfalcon Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 That may actually be the Chamber of Secrets, in the bottom level. Quote
Vindicare Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 Has anyone thought of a way to build an obscurial? I’ve been kinda wondering how to go about it...I’m not much of a MOC’er. Quote

However, the Harry with the owl has smaller glasses. Quote

And behind the Key room, you can see there exists another room, can't figure out any detail, other than there's some green in it. So we all know what it should be ;) about the prints: they just gave the figures a certain style, that isn't consistent through the line. the HP sets go partly for realism, partly they are less accurate and rather "childish and funny", which is totally ok and actually looks sweet I think. Some CMF's face designs do really look strange. I wanna add that Dumbledore's face doesn't resemble the actor all that well + the beard is way too think (Petruvious beard mold in grey would probably look better) and the beardless spot between hair and face is totally awkward as well as unnecessary - since they did 2 new molds anway That being sad, figures are not perfect, but still very good and I can't wait to get my hands on them. The face printing is an opaque black (doesn't look black like in the sets) and the details on the faces aren't as sharp on the CMF's. Percival Graves is the perfect example. Looks like keychain quality LOL. However I have a mixed feeling about it because for example I think the printing on luna's face with specs looks very sharp. By the way, I need some advice. I don't know if to go after more CMF's, I have one foot in the dark ages and one foot in the lego closet. Yesterday I felt kind of bad for spending money on LEGO but today I kind of regret not getting more minifigs. Edited August 6, 2018 by Otherworld Quote
spiderfan2000 Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 (edited) I went to another Barnes and Noble and Target, and bought 9 a total of new CMF bags between those two places. Unfortunately, Target put a limit of 5 bags per customer on the CMF wave. According to an employee, they had too much trouble keeping them in stock due to numerous people buying them in large quantities, and in one case, buying an entire box. Good to hear the series is selling so well, though inconvenient for me! I ended up with Ron Weasley, Neville Longbottom, Cho Chang, Dobby, Mad-Eye Moody, Invisibility Cloak Harry, Albus Dumbledore, Tina Goldstein, and Jacob Kowalski. Just 5 more and I'll have a complete set! Edited August 6, 2018 by spiderfan2000 Quote
Duncan Young Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I just nabbed a Graves fig! In an opened box no less! Quote
LegoFjotten Posted August 6, 2018 Posted August 6, 2018 I was planning to wait for a better deal but caved and ordered the Great Hall and the Whomping Willow from an online shop since inventories were dwindling fast. The discount was about 27%, so it's not too bad. I am somewhat surprised since I'm usually very patient, even when it comes to top D2C sets. CMF box shipped today too. Gonna be fun, just a shame that Hogwart's Express is an exclusive and wasn't available. Quote
