It hasn't been confirmed though, only rumoured - and the sets that are being released with parts of Hogwarts suggest otherwise. LEGO are not going to force people to spend £400-£500 to have a complete LEGO Hogwarts.

I have to agree with you, as I’ve said before it would end up being early £600 for what is essentially one complete set, which to me would be ridiculous, personally I’d rather get Hogwarts as built up parts from each set, like you get with X-Men Legends figures where you build a bigger figure, so I reckon that could really work and get a different thing for D2C

That Voldemort minifigure looks cool. I really hope that is from the CMF.

Yeah, I just can't see many shelling out that much money on top of the other sets for a complete Hogwarts.

The back of the Great Hall set is left open so maybe they'll include another half with the D2C, so people will get elements of it with or without the separate set. it's unlikely but somewhat a solution

Little late with my thoughts on the new sets that have been revealed but oh well. The Quidditch set is near perfect with the only thing I wish was different is Hermione and Snape being replaced by a Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff. I love how all houses are being represented here, I always felt bad for Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff as there house was also glanced over so it's awesome to see that's not the case here (Slytherin is still the best though). Definitely want to pick this set up, and if the price is $50 which I hear it is then it's a definite buy. The Whomping Willow is another fantastic set. I thought the Willow would be bigger and Castle smaller but am surprised to see it not that way. The Willow looks pretty cool but I was expecting more from it. The castle part look like a brilliant add on to the Great Hall, love the potions classroom and office. I only wish that the common room would have been Slytherin as this is Snape's corridors, small complaint. The Hogwarts Express is a nice surprise, great to see Lupin as he is one of my favorite characters. The station build is very cool and distances the set away from past express, I think we haven't gotten a platform nine and three quarters since 2001. The train itself looks nice too. To be honest this is the set I'm least interested though, I like location structures more then vehicles. Overall and jaw dropping wave and we still haven't seen the Aragog set, Newt's Suitcase, COG set, Knight Bus, and of course D2C Hogwarts. I feel I have a new favorite theme, sorry Marvel.

I doubt there will ever be a complete Hogwarts, not at minifigure scale. And if there was, it would be considerably more than £500. Even at the scale of the Great Hall, a complete Hogwarts would be significantly more than £500.

LEGO doesn't force people to buy anything, customers can buy the sets they like. For some, the hall will be enough (both in size and cost), for others, they will want more. Some people will buy everything, no matter what it is.

Well last time they did that Moody and Hedwig died so...:laugh_hard:

Oh damn! I forgot about that. Poor Hedwig :cry_sad:

Box art looks beautiful. I think these sets are gonna be Day 1 buys for me.

Hedwig: "Mr Potter I don't feel so good"

So upsetting :cry_sad:

Nothing will top Dobby's death though, that hits me right in the feels every single time. Speaking of which, I think he's one minifigure that doesn't need updating!

Anyone who has the Hobbit tree set, do you reckon you could use that to modify the Willow set? I’m not sure whether they would be integrated well

I doubt it. All of the tree builds in the Hobbit series are essentially brick built, whereas the willow is a couple of half cylinders decorated with elephant or dino tails for the branches, coupled with technic parts. You could probably increase the height using the Hobbit parts underneath the cylinders but it would look better if you kept the height the same and just got more technic connectors and elephant tails to add more branches. A bit more greenery (leaves, stems, etc) up top might look better too, so long as you can still wedge the car up there.

It’s the height that I want, I feel for a Lego set the amount of branches is fine especially with the fact it holds the car, but I’ve started editing my tree build so I’m hoping I should be able to make it look ok, tbf, I think it’ll be easier than I first thought

For height, just get another couple of the brown half cylinders. Presumably you will also need to extend the axle inside to keep the top spinning, or spin the top half the trunk too. I guess it depends how much of it spins (the whole trunk or just the top branches).

But not even LEGO can justify that people would buy the D2C plus every other Harry Potter set to have Hogwarts.

Lego can design whatever version of Hogwarts they want though. It doesn't need to look exactly like the model they used for the movies. Even that changed several times so there's no "one true Hogwarts" anyway. They could include a huge chunk in a D2C and then just include a bunch of attachables, Lego-invented or not, for people to also add.

It has the new wand piece though.

I can't tell, But i have this intense feeling that i've seen that version of voldemort before. Some custom or artwork. Maybe from some 3rd party lego printing site.

But I havent come up with anything in my recent searches for such things.  =/

Is it?  I thought at first it was, but it doesn’t look like it has the taper the new piece has. Could just be they way the picture is taken though?

Definitely is. You can see that the end is rounded.

I hope that the voldemort leaked isn't even a prototype, he looks funny not creepy. He deserves a makeover like the dementor did (which I liked)

I’ll take your word for it because I can’t make out the rounded end. But it does look like the printing on the body is a sticker (I think I see the edge of the sicker).

Quick question to those with some more train experience: based on what we've seen of it how easy would it be to add power functions to the Hogwarts Express? I have exactly zero train sets, and my experience with power functions is limited to powering the Fairground Mixer, but I'd love to set up the Hogwarts Express with some track and some power.
