ApophisV Posted May 29, 2005 Posted May 29, 2005 Yes, I was expecting it to be a lot scarier and a lot more gruesome. I thought it would be too scary for me to watch. But it wasn't. Yes, exactly the same here... I think the scariest thing I've ever watched was this documentary about ghosts. That had me terrified! My most scary movies so far: The Ring --> I was soooo happy that I was able to spend the following three nights with my (nowadays ex-)girlfriend.... 8-| So much athmosphere and really shocking... Signs --> No idea why, but this somehow is looking so realistic (I love / hate that birthday party video with the alien.... frightening.... :() 8-| ). Maybe I was so much scared because this was exactly my kind of movie or whatever, no idea. I just was shocked... (Lol, I have this slight feeling that this is becoming a general horror movie discussion, if so I'll split this tomorrow...) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 29, 2005 Governor Posted May 29, 2005 Excellent idea! I was going to say I haven't seen The Ring yet and I never got into Signs which was on commercial TV here a few weeks back. Quote
Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 Hmm...I never saw "Saw"... I've heard about and seen the commericials for "The Ring" and "Signs". But those movies were out in the U.S. for about 2 years now. I wonder why the movies are appearing so late in the other parts of the world. Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 30, 2005 Governor Posted May 30, 2005 They came out in cinemas here a few years back too, but they're just reaching commericial television which usually takes 2-4 years depending upon the popularity of the movie and time of its cinematic release. Quote

"signs", the one with Mel Gibson, right? that was 3 years ago; it's even been on tv... not a brilliant film, btw "the ring" has also passed. i didn't see it, tho are you sure it's not for a dvd release? Mr. Lego-builder Posted May 30, 2005 Posted May 30, 2005 The waiting annoys me. Just to see it on T.V., there has to be a long period of time from the premier of the movie to about 3 or 4 year before it appears on T.V. This is because they have to wait until the movie is not shown in theaters anymore, then they go and edit out the parts of the original movie that the broadcast company doesn't want you to see and then they air it. A long wait for a short process. >-| Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 30, 2005 Governor Posted May 30, 2005 Ahhhhhhhh... But on subscription television stations they recieve the movies in half the time, so it takes 18-24 months. Quote
