Brandon Stark Posted January 30, 2017 Posted January 30, 2017 (edited) Eltina Market by Brandon Stark, on Flickr While waiting for his older brother to show up with reinforcements from Ladros so he can make expeditions further into New Terra, Brandon visits the Eltina market. One year ago, this market had few vendors and visitors, yet due to the interests of some Oleander aristocrats back in the mainland, who have invested in many properties around the city, the market is now bustling with both commoners and the city's elite alike. Ayrlego Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 A simple but elegant marketplace scene. For such a small vignette you've captured a bustling market feel well I think. The minifig combos are particularly nice. Good job! Quote
Bregir Posted January 31, 2017 Posted January 31, 2017 I'll echo Ayrlego's comment and say that it looks very lively for such a small scene. I like the stacked up crates, the minifigs and the little stands. Tiling off the roofs or possibly using some curved pieces might finish them off better, though. Keep it up! :) Quote
Captain Genaro Posted February 1, 2017 Posted February 1, 2017 That's a nice little build. You really captured the crowded, bustling nature I'd expect to find in a marketplace. I like that you incorporated some variety in the cobblestones, too. As for suggestions, perhaps you could make the cobblestones a little less uniform. Some plates or square tiles could help break it up if you want a more worn appearance. The stalls could use a little more work. Perhaps some curves and additional colors/patterns for the fabric covers could help. Quote

Yeah, I think I should added something on the roofs of the stands. 23 hours ago, Captain Genaro said: That's a nice little build. I admit I need to work on the cobblestones and the stands. Quote
Captain Dee Posted February 14, 2017 Posted February 14, 2017 Neat little market. The minifigs in particular look great. I think a random placement of those round tiles looks better for cobblestone than the solid coverage you have here, and some tiles or curves would definitely improve the tops of the stalls. But it's a convincing market scene nonetheless. Quote
