Deep in Avalonian forest, the M.I.S. keeps eye on potential threats. Although remaining peaceful for many years, the Black Spire uprising in Nocturnus is a major concern, so men everywhere could serve it's purpose. The location of the outpost on a small cliff keeps the lower section hidden and the wooden lookout is built to blend in with the dense forest.

The rocks provide a cool storage place for reserves and of course, Mitgardian ale

Originally built for CCCXIV, but hoping to enter into AoM too, but as a later phase.

-Thanks for looking :)

Great build, multiple interesting things to see here! Really nice rockwork next to the waterfall and under the tower, you pulled off the arch shapes very nicely! That tree with the studs-out construction is great, too. Also a fan of the grass/vegetation texturing. Keep up the good work! :classic::thumbup:

I really like the storage room and the way you took the photo , also the rangers practicing, is a nice touch.

Thank you, I don't often build interiors, generally due to lack of bricks, so I was pleased to be able to include one here :classic:

Though I'm not that big a fan of the trees, that wonderful waterfall defenitely makes up for that! Great job!

Thanks, the trees were particularly difficult for some reason, and admittedly I'm not really happy with the smaller ones either :sceptic:

Thank you, I was hoping to improve the waterfall from my last build, so glad it worked out. And I wanted to make it particularly Avalonian, so lush vegetation was a requirement :sweet:

Nice foray into the lusher lands of Avalonia! I do have to agree with Titus, however, in saying that I am not a big fan of the trees. 2x2 rounds just don't really work, in my opinion, since they end up looking so unnaturally straight and smooth. The other tree is better with regards to shape, but it needs a bit more foliage. Another point is that I actually prefer the waterfall of last build to this one, despite the fact that it widened out so much at the end; this one looks a bit to grid-like from the front, I think. Maybe instead of all 1x1 trans clear and blue, you could use some 1x2 shapes as well, to break up the pattern. Other than that, I think it is nicely green, and I even think that your grassy area is well done, something that most people struggle with tremendously. Good work!

Out of curiosity, how far into the Avalonian forests are these guys? Like, Enchanted Forest-deep? I have a feeling the sharp-eyed elves would have noticed them by now. The humans to the east, however, would be blissfully oblivious...

I think my favorite detail is the little section of wall built into the cave rockwork  Excellent landscaping, I think the waterfall's shape is much better than your previous one, though the texture of it could likely be improved as Henjin mentioned. It looks like you tilted the SNOT plate, which is neat, much better than just having it straight up and down.

Thank you, I did try to curve the trees over, but they wouldn't stay, and after Christmas I'm planning on making a Bricklink order, so foliage is definitely on the to buy list  hm, yeah, 1x2 would probably work, I used snot for this waterfall whereas the last one was studs up, I'll just have to find the perfect balance, and thanks again! :sweet:

The outpost was set up many many years ago, the elves have always been weary of the Rangers, but no trouble has been caused as of today. But the elves most certainly keep a close eye on the outpost though

Thank you, well like I said the last one was built from the bottom up, and this was was built on a plate and layered up with trans-clear pieces, but I'll continue to try and improve :sweet:

This is a nice build, Legofin!

The cave hideout with the outpost on top is a really neat idea!  I do agree with Henjin on all improvement points.  BL orders for foliage in the coming year should really help!  The waterfall detail is interesting, and it would probably be improved with 1x2 plates to break up the regularity in shape. Good work on altering the ground elevation, both with the cliff and with the variance in the grass.

Nice one!  I actually really like the big trees, though I think to make them fit in a bit more, you would need to add  bit more foliage to make the canopy on the same scale as the tree trunk.
Also, for next, try adding a desk lamp to your photos setup, it would hep make the photos a bit brighter so it would be easier to see the detail.

Overall, great job!

I like the 'fat' tree! Also the picture gives a nice feel, they are well made but could be a little bit brighter indeed. Great job on the rockwork!

Thank you, well I got a bit of money for Christmas, so I'll be placing a rather large BL order sometime soon, plenty of foliage and new parts :sweet:

Thanks, yeah I'll be sure to add all my new foliage to future trees! And photography is an area in still trying to improve, thanks for the tip! :classic:

Thank you, speaking of the photo something seems to have gone wrong with the first one :sceptic: I'll have to re-paste the BBCode when I get to a computer
