TheBeeze Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) This is a collaborative project that was constructed by a number of members in our LUG. The project took a great level of planning and cooperation. Currently the project boasts a 4x5 arrangement of 48x48 Stud base plates, somewhere in the vicinity of 200 minifigs, and several ships. We decided to go with a camouflage scheme for several of the ships just because we thought it would be practical and look pretty cool. The original concept for this was to do something different from the norm with Star Wars. Most large scale dioramas you see are usually Hoth, Tatooine, or from the Prequels. While in development, the trailer dropped for Rogue One and we noticed some similarities to what we were envisioning. We intentionally have left the project vague as we are unsure if Rogue One will ultimately look like this or not. Also, we are still discussing the possibility of expanding this further. We had our first completed public showing this past weekend at the Brick Fair NJ Convention in the USA. Will have other media on this in time including a timelapse video of the construction. LaPasnaille Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Wow! It must be awesome to see it in real life! Great job guys!!! Quote
ProvenceTristram Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 (edited) MOC should be titled "Seconds Away From Rebel Catastrophe." Seriously: AT-ATs vs. grounded starships at that range? Good luck. Edited November 1, 2016 by ProvenceTristram Quote
kingodacheez Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Yes! Really great diorama. Well thought out; with balanced colors and original vehicles! Would like to see the expanded version as well. Quote
Forresto Posted November 1, 2016 Posted November 1, 2016 Intense diorama! I'm digging all of the mismatched paint jobs on the rebel star fighters and airspeeders! Quote
Cpt. Dan Posted November 2, 2016 Posted November 2, 2016 This is great. I love how each ship has its own character. Great collaboration! It's nice to see somewhere other than the usual combat locales in the SW universe. Quote

Wow very nice, I'm working on an aliance force myself using the new rogue one rebels. One that size may take a while though. Well until next years battepacks come out ? Quote
Kodan Black Posted November 4, 2016 Posted November 4, 2016 Wow, that is huge. Great sense of action and love the foliage. Must be even more impressive in person. Quote

Japanbuilder Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Heh heh, making those rebel scum shoot at dew backs are we? Excelllleeeeeennnnnntt! I mean poor dew backs ! Oo Quote
The Architect Posted November 9, 2016 Posted November 9, 2016 Great work and congratulations to you and all involved! I absolutely love these huge battles Quote
VaderFan2187 Posted November 22, 2016 Posted November 22, 2016 Awesome! I love the layout! Only thing is this doesn't match Rogue One, as Spoiler it is an Imperial Base which is on the beach/forest planet… Spoiler Which is called Scarif… Spoiler Which is highly likely where the Death Star plans are located. But as that wasn't what you were really going for… amazing!! [mind blown] Quote

We decided to do something a little different with some of the ships. The YWing, Awing, and Speeder all have camo themed colors. I was a bit annoyed when I saw the new Sandspeeder set coming out as it has a striking similarity to my speeder's color scheme and I posted plans and built it over a year ago. Maybe a coincidence.
