Mesabi Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 I've been looking for a Lego Gas Mask so I can create a minifig based off my profile pic. The best I can find is at http://modernbrickwa....com/gas-masks/ but I'm not sure how they attach to Minifigs, (Like if I need a custom helmet as well) or if they are of good quality. Does anyone have any experiences with Gas Masks from MBW or know of another seller of Minifig Gas Masks? Quote
AmperZand Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 (edited) The gas masks you have linked to are by SI-DAN. I don't have any of their gas masks or anyone else's (I'm mostly into medieval, fantasy and super hero minifigures), but I do have other SI-DAN parts (for example, quite a few non-LEGO parts in this picture are by SI-DAN: http://www.brickshel...ymios_court.jpg). The SI-DAN parts are manufactured to a very high standard, comparable to LEGO. In terms of design, they tend to be less chunky than LEGO (such as the thin shaft of the parasol in the picture I already linked to). They also aren't always a good fit with LEGO minifigures (such as the jinbaori in the picture that required some work on the neckline to make it fit), but mostly they're fine. Judging by pictures of the SI-DAN gas masks on LEGO minifigure heads at sites such as FireStar Toys (e.g. http://www.firestart...reen-Army-.html ), they fit OK. It looks like they slide onto the head and are neither neck pieces nor dependent on a helmet. Hope that helps. Edited July 1, 2016 by AmperZand Quote
Robianco Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 For a WWII gas mask look at BrickForge's Rigged range. There's a German Flametrooper set which has a fantastic mask although it's thicker than the SiDan range of masks. I'll post a link when I get home. Quote
OriolesFan957 Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 Mega Bloks has a few gas masks, I dont know if they would work on lego Quote
Darkdragon Posted July 5, 2016 Posted July 5, 2016 I think that's the same brand I used. It's got a ring on the back that clips it to the minifig head piece. The detail and fit is nice, but it feels a bit fragile. I have 3 of them and have never had any breaks though. Quote

Robianco Posted July 6, 2016 Posted July 6, 2016 (edited) I've had these set up on my SAS figures for a white and never had a problem with them. I think they're SiDan too. Here's a pic of the Rigged WWII mask: http://thumbs.ebaystatic.com/images/g/ErYAAOSwPc9WzWhJ/s-l225.jpg Edited July 6, 2016 by Robianco Quote

Mesabi Posted July 16, 2016 Author Posted July 16, 2016 Thanks for the input, I'll see if I Brickmania sells them when I have a chance to visit. Quote
Pemil_99 Posted July 23, 2016 Posted July 23, 2016 Minifigcat also have gasmasks. These ones is good for ww2: https://www.minifigcat.com/shop/home.php?cat=474 Unfortunately I don't have any of them myself but from what I've heard they work fine. On them you put on the canister so it points forward as they did on the early ones instead of to the side as they do nowadays and as sidans does. Quote

I didn't realise they did any others. Quote
