Jim Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Since Paul (Boratko, Crowkillers) isn't posting his magnificent recreation of the 8860 Car Chassis himself, I will do this for him Lo and behold this beauty! Don't know 'bout you, but I think it looks amazing! Quote
Blakbird Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I love everything about this. It is glorious. Now we just need to put Arvo's micro version next to it for the complete set. Quote
Blakbird Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Jim, the link to the brickset page doesn't work. Fixed it. Here is another view of the original model: Quote
JM1971 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I was about 9 when that set came out, brings back memories of my old 854. Quote
Chr.Maglekaer Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 No, it has gained two pistons. 8860 had a flat4 engine. Downsizing is sooo boring. Quote
Edwin Korstanje Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I am feeling 10 years old again . Fantastic work Paul . Jim thanks for posting this beauty. Quote
Meatman Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I seen this on Facebook. At first glance I thought that it was just the 8860. It is very pretty and very clean. Quote
pilsbury1440 Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 love it, superb work. one of my first technic sets (with 850, 855, 856). I remember building it with my dad when i was a kid - he helpfully made one chair in parallel with me making the other... and forgot to make it a mirror image. i came out of the dark ages this year with the arocs for christmas and am addicted. I've been thinking of remaking 850 studless and this has inspired me to try it Quote
Beard Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 I love that old set. Now it's been brought back to life. Quote
suffocation Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 That's a thing of beauty. Thank you so much, Paul. Quote
JunkstyleGio Posted June 29, 2016 Posted June 29, 2016 Get get my eyes of this beauty! A true tribute to a great model. Quote
vliet Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 This looks really good, brings back a lot a memories. Will there be instructions? Quote
Jim Posted June 30, 2016 Author Posted June 30, 2016 This looks really good, brings back a lot a memories. Will there be instructions? There will be a break down, but no LDD or Instructions. But I am sure someone will step up and make us happy! Quote
jorgeopesi Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 No, it has gained two pistons. 8860 had a flat4 engine. You are right it was amy mistake, maths or english who knows? . Quote
Vectormatic Posted June 30, 2016 Posted June 30, 2016 Excellent build by Paul! Looks like it could even form a decent base for a 911 MOC with that rear flat-6, just pop on a body shell and there you go! Quote
a_h_adl Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 This is a nice example of comparing studded vs studless LEGO sets Quote
Jonfensu Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 It's beautiful and clean I'm wondering why Paul doesn't share here his MOCs Quote
Good old Lego builder Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Very well done. It sure brings back memories! Has anyone ever build a body for it? (8860) Quote
rener Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 Amazing remake! Reminds me of the thrill I felt when I got the original for my 9th birthday. Time to rebuild! Quote
aol000xw Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 So clean and simple... love it, And with front suspension too! Quote
Rockbrick Posted July 1, 2016 Posted July 1, 2016 gaining a couple of cylinders and front suspension makes you look new and updated... shame the sparkplugs have gone... Quote
2LegoOrNot2Lego... Posted July 2, 2016 Posted July 2, 2016 That is very cool! I also got this for my 9th or 10th birthday... Quote
