Governor Mister Phes Posted April 30, 2005 Governor Posted April 30, 2005 I found this auction eBay http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...5972589408&rd=1 The description reads: This is a truly AMAZING find from Denmark!! It's the OFFICIAL Lego Royal Wedding Set - Set number 5877, part of their 'Belleville' range, produced as a Limited Edition, in Denmark, to commemorate the marriage of Mary Donaldson to Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark, in May 2004. Now UNAVAILABLE in shops. In MINT condition - bought directly from Lego, includes horse and landau carriage, the happy couple, crown and a bouquet. It is absolutely GORGEOUS, and a lovely souvenir of the Royal Wedding itself - a fairytale! This set is especially important because Princess Mary was named as the Official Hans Christian Andersen Ambassador to Australia, to mark the 200th birthday anniversary celebrations of Hans Christian Andersen - the famous children's book writer. The figurers are intended to represent stylistically Mary and Frederik - indicated by Mary's long, layered, mahogany-coloured hair, and Frederik's dark brown hair and Danish Royal Navy uniform. ULTRA CUTE! and a GREAT SOUVENIR of the ROYAL EVENT OF 2004. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Is this true or is the seller pushing false information in an attempt to get higher bids?
snefroe Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 it is for real.. i just came across this set when browsing the German catalogue of 2000; it was part of the Belville line
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 1, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 1, 2005 I believe the set is real, it was specifically these details I were questioning: It's the OFFICIAL Lego Royal Wedding Set - Set number 5877, part of their 'Belleville' range, produced as a Limited Edition, in Denmark, to commemorate the marriage of Mary Donaldson to Crown Prince Frederik of Denmark. I checked on LugNet and it does say this set was released in 2004 but with none of the additional information.
xwingyoda Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 Come on guys, its sooooooo cute ;) Add a couple clickits flowers on the landau carriage, what a fairytale ;) EDIT: I'm NOT being ironic here - Belville is intended for little girls - what little girl would not wish a wedding like this?? Possibly none. TLC brings joy for kids, isn't that what its all about???

Sarg_Kulo Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I think I was better off not knowing this set existed

But Lego is a kid's toy after all, and I'm confident that this set is appealing to young girls ;)
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 1, 2005 Posted May 1, 2005 I have yet to meet a girl in person who like lego >-|
Governor Mister Phes Posted May 2, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 2, 2005 Sounds typical for wenches your age. Just give them about 5 years and then they'll begin to think its awesome. Strange how it works like that...
Sarg_Kulo Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Well if I told girls that i liekd Lego they wouldn't go out with me >:(

Governor Mister Phes Posted May 2, 2005 Author Governor Posted May 2, 2005 Well if I told girls that i liekd Lego they wouldn't go out with me >:( Remind me never to move into your neighbourhood then...
ApophisV Posted May 2, 2005 Posted May 2, 2005 Be mindful of your feelings my youg padawans!!!Having different tastes can be problematic. If a woman will not go out with you guys for THIS reason, let it be, she is not worth any efforts >-| Yeah, this is so completely true! Not only for Lego but for everything. If women (or men for the girls... and David) don't accept you as you are you immediatelly should forget it!

Original 2004 Royal Wedding, which BrickSet confirms to be accurate. http://www.brickset.com/search.aspx?Query=5877 Doesn't look anything like them anyway... Which is a probably good thing since I've had enough of looking at them.
