Hey y'all, having acquired the first LEGO Disney Minifigures earlier with no Whitefang review to be found, I thought it would be neat if I gave a closer look at the series. Not really a review, but more images than anything.

But, if you DO want to see my review, I did a video one here:

All of the minifigures are just about the best they can be in LEGO form. Though, some character selections are weird, like the Little Green Alien, Daisy Duck, Syndrome, and the Chesire Cat. Though, even those I understand. The LGM makes sense since Toy Story is one of Disney's most popular properties, so it makes sense to include two (and I don't think Woody would look passable with a minifig head), Daisy Duck is a good way to save money on production, and she's a companion to Donald Duck (there's no new moulds on her), the Cheshire Cat is another character from Alice and Wonderland (and there's a new movie for that coming soon), and Syndrome... well, alright, he's an odd choice. And, his face looks really weird and un-LEGO like, but that's my opinion.

I just adore the detail all around these minifigures. I mean, majority of the figures have dual moulding on their legs and/or arms. The first image is all the minifigures with side printing, whether it'd be on their legs or arms. The following two pictures are all the minifigures with back printing.

Oh, and Genie has side arm printing as well!

Though, a noticeable downside on this series is the sheer lack of accessories. Heck, the accessories they include aren't unique for the most part. The second image here is the new hair/helmet pieces - which, in that aspect, this series is flourishing with new moulds!

Now, for some comparison pics.

Despite popular belief, the Toy Story LGM in this series is totally unique! Even eyes are printed slightly downer than the original iterations (this is something I noticed from the first pictures of the series).

And, we got Ariel before - but in minidoll form. In that aspect, she's the first minifigure to ever have been a minidoll before, and the only minifigure to exist both as a minifigure and a minidoll. The new hair is definitely better than the minidoll hair.

And, I love the old Buzz minifigures more than I do the new one. But it's not a bad minifigure - though, I will mix the new one's printed arms and legs with the old one's head.

Here's the final mix:

Alas, Aladdin allows us to make a proper Ezra from LEGO Star Wars Rebels!

That's it! Hope you guys enjoyed this brief look at the LEGO Minifigures The Disney Series.

Ariel is not only the first character to be both a minifigure and a minidoll, but also the first character to be both of those and a DUPLO figure, as well.

Thanks for the pix!

Great review. After seeing those pics I changed my mind slightly. While Stich and Donald are still my favourires, Ursula is now part of my top 3. She is perfect. :sweet:

Thanks for the pics!

I have a little request :classic: Can you take a picture of a citizen minifigure wearing the Cheshire Cat torso as a sweater? Maybe a grandma or something

That's the only minifigure I'm considering to get from this wave

(Oh and Ariel....... for............ mmmm ........ my sister...... :look: )

The Ariel minidoll with the new hair looks exactly like the one in the cartoons, IMO. I am looking forward to the set and hopefully it will be easy to get ahold of like s15 was. :classic:

Is Malificent's upper part of her cape a solid black. Or is it mixed with purple. Also is it the older stiffer cape style or the new softer fabric

Edit: Also what color is Hook's Hook? It looks Dark Bluish Grey

Agree

It even looks like her hair is floating in the water, just like the movie :classic:

Very helpful, thank you!

purple on printing on there, skip to 3.45 min. I think the upper cape piece should have been applied the other way around to be able to see that from the front.

Rats. I guess I'll still have to wait for an upper black cape piece.

Oooo Ariel's back printing is goood :-) And actually her hairpiece on the minidoll makes me reconsider that as a useful character, looks really good.

You are totally wrong that they are all the best they could be in minifigure form. Captain Hook could be so much better if he had a new head mould with his distinctive nose.

That's a matter of opinion. I think Hook looks perfect, I don't even feel like the nose is missing. The mustache placement almost implies the big hooked nose of his. So for me, I wouldn't have it any other way.

They could of done Jafar or Prince Hans from Frozen instead of doing a repeat minifigure from their past, since the Little Green Alien is just a reprint of the same minifigure from their Lego Toy Story line

He just doesn't look right to me at all. I have no idea what Disney were thinking when they decided not to make a new head mould for the one character that needed it more than any of the others in the series.

It's been mentioned many times:

- humanoid characters: minifigure head

- animals / aliens: molded head.

That is how it goes. I you give hook a new headpiece you would have to do the same with all the others.

How easy were these to feel in the bags

Uh, pretty easy I guess? It took me like 5 minutes between the 16 and then the last 2, Stitch and Buzz were hard.

We've all heard you express that opinion before, and every time there are several people like myself who disagree. Hook looks fine as he is.
