Lol only experience I had that left me like wth just happened, because I bought a Simpsons house but they swore up and down they sent it, I never received it, they kept sending them but finally I guess many orders in their system logged in that once they fixed it, I got three Simpsons houses for free, I confronted Lego about it since they are huge company but customer service rep just told me to keep them and apologized for the error in their shipping department. They blamed Fed Ex though

Whoa! A few years ago they included a $40 City set I didn't order in one of my Shop at Home orders; I contacted them about it to let them know and ask if they wanted it back, and they did. I'm flabbergasted that they told you to just go ahead and keep not one but multiple extra copies of a set costing five times as much.

There was a period a few years ago when I was having issues with mail deliveries to the apartment I lived in at the time, and a few of my Brickmaster mailings initially didn't reach me, so when I contacted them, LEGO resent them, and then I later wound up getting the original shipments from the post office where they'd just been sitting around; when I contacted TLG again to let them know I'd gotten them after all, they said to just keep them, so I wound up with free extra copies of a few Brickmaster sets. But that's a far cry from something like even one copy of a $200 D2C, never mind two or three.

And about getting multiple sets shipped, I know a couple weeks ago there was a problem with an Ikea shipment, and almost the whole shipment got doubled. We kept the copies, Ikea didn't want to go into more trouble.

But the gun has an imprint of a 4 that I've seen on other pieces before. Oh well I kind of like it so I might keep it

I just checked a a gun of mine...where was the four? The only markings on mine were the LEGO logo inside the stud, a C inside a circle & a 21 on either side of the trigger.

Edit...just checked a different gun and it has a different number.

Couldn't you find the logo inside the recess of the studs? Or is it too hard to see? I have them in pearl gold and silver and have to take them under really good lighting. It takes a bit to see it, but it's definitely there.

I've looked over the comments about resealing and, honestly, this doesn't feel like a resealing. If that were the case, I could see someone taking out the entire minifigs, not just the heads and headgear. They're worth more in their entirety. They wouldn't have any reason to insert another piece either.

The other thing is....A person resealing this would have had to open the bags with the parts inside, right? When you opened the set, were the bags sealed? I know some BrickLinkers have equipment to reseal baggies but think it would be unlikely in this case. If it were a high end set with figures exclusive to it, I could maybe see it happening. But a much more common and cheap set? That sounds pretty unlikely.

Well if it is a prototype, it wouldn't have to have the logo on it. Since it wouldn't be an official piece, perhaps the prototyping moulds don't include it?

Still, a long shot, but it's probably the most likely of unlikely explanations. :sceptic:

My friend and I were at Wal-Mart looking at LEGO and we went to pick up a $90 City set and the box was completely empty. There was little strips of white tape over the broken seal. I was impressed with that thief's ingenuity

When I worked at Toys R Us, this happened about once every couple weeks. Half the time they didn't even bother to tape it back up. I got about half a dozen sets super cheap since someone opened it or stole some of the pieces.

Oh ya I've seen that all the time. Bags open and all the minifigures are stolen. A lot of times stores will give you a discount which is pretty good I guess

my worst was with a custermer service rep. I just bought 7991 and the latch on the back would snap off when you would open the door because it wasnt held on good. I called lego to tell them this problem with the loose studs on my set, The lady said "Listen stupid, if it falls off when you open it dont open it." So I said. "How am I going to play with it then." then she said "Play with it? Listen, you know these arnt toys right, these are complex building blocks models. They are not for kids. Buy some super glue if it falls apart." then she hung up on me.

I like to think some one was listening in on her and they got the line "these are complex building blocks models" from the lego movie from her.

Hope she got fired

My worst experience is to have a complete set of figures and then Lego decides to do a limited convention run of some figure (of a character from my childhood), and then my collection is incomplete unless I want to pay $200.

Snip

A Lego Customer Service employee called you stupid? You should've complained :look:

Wow ya I hope she got fired too....

So many things in this thread that are hard to believe!

I mean this in the most polite and nice way, but why are you here then and making repetitive negative comments like this....

That seems hard to believe.

That's really bizarre and unLEGO-like. The only thing I can think is that they were either having a bad day or thought you were trolling them. Either way, there was no excuse for her behaving like that. If she did it to you so readily, she probably did it to a lot of other people too. Hope she got reprimanded, too.

My last comment was in reference to the customer service rep story that sounds entirely made up.

And I guess I must admit I have just taken a bit of an obsessive interest in your case of the excessive amount of missing and wrong pieces in a sealed set. I wanna know the truth now! It seems impossible that Lego would allow for this amount and kind of mistakes in their automated assembly/packaging line. Especially the blaster gun, which by your own admission does not bear the Lego mark, so is probably a Chinese knock off brand piece, something you also admitted to being aware of! It's super unlikely that something like that makes its way into a Lego factory and into a sealed set with a bunch of other mistakes. So that leaves two options. Someone in the factory or elsewhere on the supply line planted them for whatever reason, or you yourself planted them, which -and I mean this in the most polite and nice way- would be what I'd put my money on if I were a betting man.

My mom bought me the 2010 Clone Turbo Tank from Target. Only someone had bought it prior, opened the box and bags, took out the Minifigures, put the pieces back into the box, resealed it and returned it to Target.
