Hey, topic to discuss Funko collectibles. Funko makes a number of assorted items from popular IPs in different formats - Pop, Dorbz, Wacky Wobblers, mugs, keychains, etc. I thought this would be a good place to add a discussion, as the collectibles themselves remind me a lot of Lego, since they look like stylized versions of the IPs - kinda like Lego minifigures in a way.

I personally have been collecting Pops for about a year and really started when they released the Marvel Collector Corp program. It's a subscription program where once every two months they send you a box of products, primarily with a Pop but also containing other Funko collectibles. Similar to Loot Crate or Nerd Block, but only with Funko products. I've enjoyed that enough that I've also subscribed to their Smuggler's Bounty program, which is the same just with Star Wars.

Currently, I'm hunting down some of the Star Wars TFA and Marvel Civil War retail store exclusives. I mostly keep the exclusive ones boxed and open non-exclusives. My wife even has some that she displays at work.

So, anyone else into Pops?

Ooh, cool topic idea!

Me and my sister share a Disney's Robin Hood, and my sister has two variants of Belle, and possibly also a Beast. Not entirely sure.

However, we're going to a Funko store next week, so hopefully I'll come across some cool ones over there

I won't be collecting anything specific, like all Assassin's Creed Funko's, or all Star Wars' or anything. I'll just buy when I see something I like.

To clarify, I currently have non that are completely mine

They're definitely worth it given the price - anywhere from $9-12 in stores like Barnes and Nobles, Hot Topic, GameStop, Target, etc. But with that said they can be very addictive. I find I'm branching out because they cover so many IPs.

But with that said they can be very addictive.

That's an understatement  I'm very much looking forward to the 6" Drogon and Rhaegal dragons from Game of Thrones. Also Civil War and wave 2 of Harry Potter!

Wait theres funko sfores? I really liked their Admiral Ackbar figure but so far ive avoided them. I do not want to get addicted to buying something other then Lego lol

The Thorin one is just my favourite, got Thor and Bilbo as well, and Rocket wich is really cute! Wish Quicksilver and Bard could've been released though.

Cool topic!

No, there are just a number of stores that carry Funko Pops in various capacities. Barnes and Nobles, Target, Hot Topic, GameStop, FYE, Wahlgreens, and probably others I'm forgetting. Some stores even get exclusives, which are either reprints or completely exclusive figures.

Then there's the subscription programs for Star Wars, Marvel, and DC. Each box of that subscription contains at least one exclusive Pop, sometimes two. Speaking of which, the Star Wars box this month was great - two Pops, Ben Kenobi (sorta action pose) and Snaggletooth (with the possibility of getting Red or Blue, with Blue being the chase).

Also found FN-2187 today, which is a Target store exclusive.

Actually, in Haarlem, the Netherlands, there is a Funko Pop-shop. It might be one of those pop-up stores, so who knows how much longer it'll be there, but it's there right now.

(And yes, I realize this is of no use to you U.S. citizens, but you have all those stores HawkLord mentioned, so  )

My gaze has always sort of slipped over the Funko Pop figures, but this past weekend I was in B&N and I saw the Knightmare Batman from BvS aaannd.... I bought it. I'm so screwed- now I know I'm gonna buy tons more of these things.:wub::angry::excited:

A Google search later, and there's a Miles Morales Spider-Man one? *hits eBay*

Nightmare Batman is a pretty cool figure. I've been impressed with all the BvS figures with the more "action" poses.

Yep, Miles Morales Spidey was a Collector Corp exclusive. If you haven't checked out Collector Corp, definitely take a look - it's Funko's Marvel subscription. I've found it to be well worth the money for the Pops and shirts; I even sold some Pops I haven't want which has helped the total cost. Funko has one for DC, as well, and the first box contains a BvS Armored Batman.

BvS Armored Batman? *Doubles eBay efforts* And I'm checking out those subscriptions.... my poor wallet. :cry_sad: Curse you, HawkLord!

And now I'm ogling over the Zootopia Mystery Minis and Seinfeld Vinyl Idolz... two days into the Funko universe and I'm already too far gone.....

Lol! It's a blessing and a curse.

More tips - if you do get into the mystery minis, check online for figure distributions schematics per box. People will post where in the box they got certain figures, which ensures you get the figure that you want, since Funko uses the same pattern for each box of a given IP. Note that this only works on boxes that haven't been shuffled or moved around by other people or store employees - only new boxes that have not been tampered.

Also, check GameStop for the Vinyl Idolz. I've seen at least one store clearance them.

Mixed superheroes, Disney Princesses and Ponies. I love little collectable figures, so there were a no brainer to buy. I have a want list of figures I would like to buy and I keep hoping/not that they start with another IP or two that I like.

Hey, I'll throw my two cents in.

I own Sir Bedivere from Monty Pythin and the Holy Grail and Jeffrey "The Dude" Lebowski from The Big Lebowski. That said, I wouldn't mind getting my hands on a Harley Quinn.

I care about the Sci Fi mystery minis series, the Horror series has cool ones but also plenty I don't care about. I like Pops but don't generally get every one I like. Have Judge Dredd, X-men's Storm, Captain Phasma, Avengers' Nick Fury, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, a DIY blank (plan to turn into Cad Bane), and most recently: Swamp Thing!

Some I like and haven't gotten are TMNT's Raph, Orphan Black's Helena, Bravest Warrior's Catbug, multiple Star Trek and Next Generation characters, the dragons of Game of Thrones, Drew Brees, Darkseid, Agent Carter, Willy Wonka, some arrow/flash characters, the newest Morgan and Carol from The Walking Dead, Spike and Angel, 4th doctor, a Dalek, and a weeping angel.

There's a great "dorbs" wonder woman in her jet that I neeeeed.

There's a DC subscription box going now that I'm super interested in (though not as interested as I am in having a full set of the LEGO DC offerings, so probably gonna leave it alone)

Y'all know that Funko teamed up with Playmobil to do licensed character double-scale Playmobil figures? I don't care about playmobil but I like Wonka and Tom Baker...

Also I think it's nuts how flooded the market is on stylized plastic representation of characters: Funko alone has the pops & mystery minis & giant "deluxe vinyl" & "dorbs" & "mopees" & "fabrikations" & "idolz" & "vixens" & "hikari" & "mymoji". Now Funko Playmobil. Then you got so many other companies that do deformed characters and stylized characters, minimates, eggheaded people, kiddy figures like imaginext and superhero squad. And the Minifigure!

And when you've already overwhelmed on the amount of styles you can make your characters in, it blows up on Lego Ideas and it gets into Lego Dimensions

I'll add that if you're interested in the subscription programs and don't mind doing alittle legwork to flip some, they can reduce the cost of the program's greatly.

For example, I got the Marvel program last year for $150 plus shipping. That gets you six boxes, which include one Pop (half the time it's two Pops), other goodies, a shirt, and a comic. I sold four Pops during that year for about $20 each and I sold some of the other assorted items for alittle less. In total, I think I came close to making back like 50% of what I spent and that was after I kept what I wanted. I also never sold a shirt, so I have six shirts, three Pops (including the large Hulkbuster), and some other assorted items. It's not a bad deal considering you could factor each shirt as being around $15-20 themselves.

I started the Star Wars program this year and got the chase in the first box. I was able to sell that for $70, which means my $150 investment in the year is already almost cut in half.

So, if you're interested in selling (or trading) the subscription can be viable.

Yea, the General Mills Pops were pretty short-lived.

Currently, I'm keeping my eye on Star Wars TFA Wave 3. And I can't wait for next months Smugglers Bounty which is reported to have two Pops.

As a fan of the CW DC shows and the Arkham games, I got Arrow's Deathstroke, Flash's Reverse-Flash, and Arkham Knight's Scarecrow a while ago.

My first and only Mystery Mini was the Arkham Knight series and I got Scarecrow, which was pretty lucky.

Also got the first Legion of Collectors (DC-specific subscription box) and the Armored Batman is pretty great.

I'm stoked for the next one (5 more days!), based on the DC TV series', so hopefully more Flash and Arrow stuff. Not big on Supergirl, who's rumored to be the Pop in the next one.

Also can't wait for the Suicide Squad stuff. The first Mystery Mini lineup I've seen where I wouldn't mind getting any of them while I hope for a masked Deadshot.

Remember to check online for a figure distribution on the mystery minis. The figures are always lined up in the same order, so if there's one your looking for and you see a fresh case you can always find that figure. Granted if you see a case that looks mixed up or like it's been gone through, then all bets are off.

That's how people were able to get the chase figures from the recent Bats V Supes boxes.

I've got about 30. Way more if I bought all the ones I want. They mainly consist of Marvel & DC. A few 80's cartoons & video games & anime thrown in too. My favorites are Thanos & Voltron.

I do hope to find the big Ant-Man.

I haven't gotten one yet but I've been looking at them. I think I'm gonna get Sidon Ithano and Admiral Ackbar. And maybe another person if I like them. Have they made a Indiana Jones one?
