MagPiesRUs Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 (edited) Here's some more pics from my entry for the Pirate Halloween Contest. A group of corsairs have been terrorising the seas for too long, and France (or 'the Blue Empire' :-D ) has sent a large galleon to put an end to their days of piracy. The corsairs see this ship approaching them and starts firing at it. The corsairs are outgunned, however, and soon their ship is badly damaged. The remaining pirates evacuate the ship and hop onto small boats. One such boat contains some of the finest fighters the Barbary Coast has to offer, and it escapes into a small cave on the coast. One of the Imperial's own boats pursues them, and both crews soon realise they have made a mistake entering this dark place. From out of the gloomy fog come the skeleton pirates, who have long haunted this place, and begin to attack the unlucky crews. The corsairs (most of them at least) bravely defend themselves against these pirates of death. (There's me in the turban X-D ) The Imperial captain hasn't noticed this threat yet, but his soldiers certainly have ("Skeleton behind me? What skeleton behind me?" :-D ) The corsairs continue to fight with the vicious skeletons.. ..But the undead continue to overrun them, and their deaths are almost certain.. Now the Minifigs: The Corsairs: The Imperial Soldiers: The Undead #1: The Undead #2: ...And the whole cast! Take a bow, everyone! Finally, a photoshopped version, for added spookiness 8-| *skull* : Enjoy! Edited November 21, 2007 by TinyPiesRUs Quote
iamded Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Wow, cool! Great use of the BURPs, creative methods of sticking the skellies in place, nice details too. The especially like the skellie in the barrel (:-D) and the Imperials running away! X-D Good idea with the EF robot hand as a peg-leg, and that last pic is really cool too! *y* ~Peace Quote
Asuka Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 A very neat creation, with a very good variety of characters and an atmosphere like something straight from a decent action movie. :'-) I especially like your great Skellies like the one in the barrel and these two with the chains and the steering wheel.... Very cool! *y* Quote
Col. Whipstick Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Seeing this sort of thing puts me to shame for not having or knowing how to use photoshop. It's also a pity that there aren't any other holidays that lend themselves so creatively as Holloween. Quote
Captain Green Hair Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 Very nice review, is especially like the photoshopped picture! *y* Quote
Errorist Posted November 18, 2007 Posted November 18, 2007 nicely done *y* That photoshopped picture really adds to the sense of panic *skull* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 18, 2007 Governor Posted November 18, 2007 This was the entry I voted as most scariest because of all the marauding skeletons. Oh what a frightening an event it would be to see all those ghastly undead charging towards you. Now I know how those orcs in Return of the King must have felt. Quote
Lt. Col. Thok Posted November 20, 2007 Posted November 20, 2007 Very nice! I also voted for you - it is ...*wub* Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 20, 2007 Governor Posted November 20, 2007 You for voted for me? You're too kind Mr. Lt. Col. Thok. Oh wait a minute, you mean Mr TinyPiesRUs's MOC. Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted November 21, 2007 Author Posted November 21, 2007 Thanks everyone *sweet* I've resized my photoshopped image, might resize the rest when I don't have exams Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 21, 2007 Governor Posted November 21, 2007 Blast those exams! They're always detracting from more important things like resizing pictures for the pirate forum X-D All the best with those anyway! Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 Blast those exams! They're always detracting from more important things like resizing pictures for the pirate forum X-DAll the best with those anyway! Exactly :-D And thanks Mr Phes. I've now got one more to go :-/ Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 22, 2007 Governor Posted November 22, 2007 Just to be blatantly off topic... What are studying? Quote
MagPiesRUs Posted November 22, 2007 Author Posted November 22, 2007 Well my final exam is German.. I'm also doing history, art (as you might've noticed X-D) and the normal others. Once again, thanks everyone (especially those who voted for me X-D :-P ) Quote
Governor Mister Phes Posted November 22, 2007 Governor Posted November 22, 2007 Ok, lets continue the interview on topic... X-D What was your inspiration behind Cave of the Dead? Were you influenced by any forms of fiction? Quote
