GuillaumeFloriade Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) Hello I'm new with this software i need to build a building with a diffrent 'normal' scale then LEGO. At the moment i have a big building with some detail. But it is getting slower and slower to do things. Is this because of the size of the file? I have a reasonably strong computer, beacuse i render normal architecture models. Can somebody help? if there is a trick or something? Give more memory to the program ? Please help because i am not done with the building! The pictures are from two days ago. so I have put some more bricks in the model. (via Dropbox becasue of the small size limitations) https://www.dropbox.com/s/bj1xdxmxjuaso09/20160314151613.jpg?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/gn9gc3edfygb06m/20160314151608.jpg?dl=0 Hope you understand my question i am from the netherlands. Zerobricks Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 (edited) How many pieces you have? I suggest you to lower all gaphical settinsg to minimum and split the file into several small ones in order to keep the program stable. You dont want a large corrupted file, trust me. RoxYourBlox Posted March 14, 2016 Posted March 14, 2016 Performance is directly related to the number of bricks visible on-screen. Group your model, then hide sections except the one(s) on which you're working. Quote
GuillaumeFloriade Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 I import the model in e new file. At the moment it is working better and faster again. As fast as normal. I have at the moment 15359 bricks Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 I have at the moment 15359 bricks You are getting close to where LDD starts to get unstable, around 20k is the upper limit as far as I know Quote
GuillaumeFloriade Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 If i want to save the file it keeps crashing! HELP ME! Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Guess you overdid it... Did you split the model into smaller ones as suggested? Quote
GuillaumeFloriade Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 You are getting close to where LDD starts to get unstable, around 20k is the upper limit as far as I know So what do i need to do then? Because i need to make a building of this size.. for a building competition Quote
Zerobricks Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Like I said split the model in smaller modules/files. Quote
GuillaumeFloriade Posted March 15, 2016 Author Posted March 15, 2016 Like I said split the model in smaller modules/files. I will try it in the hope evrything fits together later. Quote
roland Posted March 15, 2016 Posted March 15, 2016 Also all those transparent parts might be a big factor. This because In general transparent things are more 'expensive' to render. It shouldn't influence the filesave though. Quote
