Zerobricks Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Hello guys. Can anyone with 8448 wheels try to put them on an assembly like this and tell of it works? Thanks! Quote
zux Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) It works, but still wobble a bit. Technic pulley wheel works better than these 3 connectors Edited February 19, 2016 by zux Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 (edited) Wobbleing a bit?? It has more then one mm of play! .. Edited February 19, 2016 by tripletschiee Quote
zux Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Not more than 1mm for me, in case of those connectors. Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 19, 2016 Author Posted February 19, 2016 What about using the older, thicker version of the connector? Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Better, but still to much play . Quote
zux Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 Are you looking for ways to attach the wheels? Since using pulley wheel there is no wobbling at all. Or there is a specific reason you need connectors pointing out of wheel's center? Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 BTW, i did it that way, when using these hubs with the 8448 wheels. The 2er axle is in the hub and the wheel. Makes it pretty stiff. Here is a video of your idea: Quote
nicjasno Posted February 19, 2016 Posted February 19, 2016 8448 wheels were really a bad design with little foresight. Quote

allanp Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 On my 8448 wheels the centre axle hole is rotated slightly relative to the 3 outer holes, so by forcing an axle through it becomes really stiff Quote
Technic Jim Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 Is this for your all round fastest car tutorials? Quote
Zerobricks Posted February 20, 2016 Author Posted February 20, 2016 Here you are: Thank you mate! What is your opinion on these wheels, their traction compared to more modern alternatives? I am thinking of getting 4. Quote
deehtha Posted February 20, 2016 Posted February 20, 2016 I haven't tested the traction, but the rubber on my set feels a lot softer than the tires that came with my 42000. If I remember right when I had my 8448 built the tires bulged every so slightly from the weight. Quote
tripletschiee Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 @allanp: same with me. But that makes it really stiff. @zblj: soft, light, big offset of the rim. Pretty cool wheels. Quote

allanp Posted February 21, 2016 Posted February 21, 2016 Their grip is good. Very soft and grippy rubber. Way better than todays plastic rubber. Quote
