Hello all,

I'm starting a build of a New Haven caboose and need some help with it. In order to get the look the way I want it, I need to have a 7x7 roof on the 6x7 (LxW) cupola all atop an 8-wide caboose. The problem is I can't get two 11477 pieces to connect to anything else if I do it this way (see first picture). I've currently got the roof built using small strips of packing tape to hold the two in place and I've come to terms with that being a permanent solution, but I want to make sure I exhaust all pure possibilities before giving up.

To help see the cupola design better, I've color-coded the pieces and grabbed a couple more images from LDD:

Let me know if you have any ideas!

What about removing the 1x2 slope, and have it be smaller a little instead of the overhang currently on the caboose? i''ll make a picture in a minute...

EDIT:

Well, it's more like 8x7, but it works and is brick legal.

i'm uploading a LDD file too.. just give me a minute

That's a tricky puzzle you have there!

Now, I did my best to get it looking as close as I could to what you've got, and I've come up with this:

The LDD File is here. Now, it uses a couple of parts that are a little out of the ordinary, two in particular aren't rare perse but they aren't super common. That said, every brick here has been produced.

I hope this is what you are looking for! It has been a real blast trying to figure it out!

WOW! I honestly wasn't expecting to find something that works, let alone that quickly! Looks like I'll be ordering a couple of those pieces from overseas...

Thanks for taking a stab at it! I'm trying to build it as prototypical as possible though, so I want the overhang on the front and back of the roof.
